Rethink Food does this every day. We pay restaurants to make nutritious meals for people in their community at low cost, simultaneously increasing access to healthy, whole foods, and supporting small businesses. Why is the media rooting against healthy kids? We don’t have a funding problem. We had a political will problem. It is more than possible to serve a REAL food meal (with whole foods proteins, vegetables, whole grains) for under $4.60. It is more than possible for America to not poison children under current budget levels. School procurement programs have been a piggy bank for junk food companies. Lunchables and Doritos were deemed as healthy snacks. Now, that money will go to farmers. The force of MAHA voters have now given children (who are getting slaughtered by chronic disease) a seat at the table. That’s what’s been missing.
