It was great sitting down with Katina Ellison and Karen Raschke of the West 71st Street Block Association to talk neighborhood issues like sanitation, public safety, and how we can work together to make the Upper West Side even better!

in Council District 3, bringing much needed shade and greenery to our neighborhoods. Trees cool our streets, improve air quality, and save lives. But for too long, too many neighborhoods have been left without the shade they need.

As a City Council Member, I was proud to be the prime sponsor of the legislation that required NYC to create a comprehensive urban forest plan, because we cannot tackle extreme heat and climate change without dramatically expanding our tree canopy. gothamist.com/news/new-nyc-t…

The federal government cut $28.4 million from New York’s public television and radio stations, putting at risk everything from early childhood education programming to trusted news and emergency alerts that keep our communities informed and connected.

Electric aircraft have the potential to dramatically reduce the kind of disruptive noise that has impacted communities for years, and the idea of quieter, more sustainable air travel is compelling. As this technology advances and moves through federal approvals, we need to

I’ve joined Assembly Member @KeithPowersNYC to introduce legislation that clears the way for new artist housing in New York City for the first time in over 20 years. If we want to remain the cultural capital of the world, we need to make sure artists can afford to live here.

🚨 Legislation Alert: Artist Housing New York is losing its artists to the housing crisis. For decades, a legal barrier has made it nearly impossible to build new affordable housing for artists. Today, we’re taking action to fix that.
