Just one of the negatives in trying to be more sustainable and sequest more carbon. Retained stubble causing planter block headaches.

Inter-row sowing can be very satisfying, when it's smooth planting.

@TRethus @dyerjonathan ~240 kWh buffer-batteries are starting to get somewhat common on farms in the Netherlands. They'll lower peak capacity to the grid when initially cooling warm crop after harvest, and will supply for a few hours (6 - 8AM & 5 - 7 PM) when price is highest.

Maybe farmers will want electric utes after all.

Hey Twitter, Am looking to run a data cable 180-200m. Normal cat6 can only do 100m. Is fibre the go? Anybody got any pointers? I know, I know, just use point to point wifi. Which is an option but I know which will be more reliable. Any thoughts Ag Nerds?

Question to the grain farmers out there. What is your biggest concern - other than weather?

@brockman41 The pull types and front mower have the benefit of steel conditioning rollers (Krone M Roller)

@RethusLuke Why run two pull types like that instead of the traditional wing setup for triple mowers?

@quandifarmer I unhook the RH rear mower and tow it with another tractor if travelling down the road. The LH mower can then swing behind the tractor.

@CorbinSchuster Ended up cutting 10% of the hay area before this latest rain; this could be all we do unless it dries out. There are just too many areas where water has been running across the paddock making it untrafficable; just going to make a mess patching out the good areas.

To cut, or not to cut, that is the question! And more rain ☔ forecasted...

@CorbinSchuster With more rain on the way, how much longer can we keep it uncut before it starts turning...

48hrs ago, every weather model had us in for 1-5mm of rain...then around 6pm last night they changed. 50mm+ for the day thus far. How can you honestly make decisions on farm with forecasts like this..? Especially the decision to either cut or leave a hay paddock. Annoying!

@ipaddockapps You will need the steering wheel angle sensor. We have hydraulic rams to shift the row units left and right but still needed the steering wheel angle sensor to make it work.

John deere active implement guidance, can you run it without a steering sensor, if so how? Also, what is "Implement Shifting" mode? Referred to in the manual as a setting but no other description of what it actually does! Says it doesn't need a wheel position sensor #asktwitter
