@gsandral @FarmTender Eric is particularly good at communicating. I find the Wimmera is rarely outside the 45-55% range, which sound great but it doesn't mean it will be average once the season develops. I would like an outlook that helps decision making by reducing the number of possible scenarios.

@TRethus Tim, @FarmTender put Eric Snodgrass YouTube up which explains briefly the low predictability models have at this time of the year. Its worth a view but you have to get most of the way through the annalysis (YouTube) for the proability explination.

Probability of accuracy at this time of the year is very low. We should ask our selves are we just reporting noise? I think we should use these indicators when they have higher probabilities of the predicted outcome.

BREAKING: Large fire at Viva Energy's Corio refinery in Geelong, Victoria Australia. Substantial flames visible, multiple fire trucks on scene. The refinery processes ~120,000 barrels/day — over 10% of Australia's daily fuel supply. Fire not yet under control.

@FarmerTonyWhite Mine usage would not vary and they'd have regular deliveries. I would support my best customers too. Doesn't help us farmers but it makes sense.

@farmersgrowit @ipaddockapps It was expensive back in 2022(?), but if you can't get it at all that's a problem. Will the squeeze results in less grain in the world and hence better prices for us. I can only hope.

@ipaddockapps @dyerjonathan John Deere tracks were a later release than the Case but fixed a lot of issues we had with the rowtrac; no speed restrictions except on narrowest track. New Rowtrac I haven't tried but assume they've upgraded? Tracks will be jittery on rough surfaces but don't get power bounce.

Summer rain can be annoying - but given the outlook for the rest of the year I reckon most here in the Wimmera would take a good soak - hopefully can conserve half at this time of year. Obvs early days, but more and more models jumping onboard.

Here's a fix for anyone still clinging to an old copy of JD Apex - which stopped opening in 2026. Change your computer date to 2025 & hey presto! We are on Ops centre now but the boundary editing & Rx features are so limited, its handy being able to flick to Apex haha #aghack

In our region, the rule-of-thumb for when to plant grain crops is "after ANZAC Day". The operation of planting completely erases anything in the paddock. So I figured, if it will be visible until at least ANZAC Day, let's combine the two? To the greatest place. Happy Australia Day. 🇦🇺

Using a non-selective herbicide need to minimise the sprayed area. Boom can be one jet at 250mm spacing. Would a drone be so accurate? $$ Not convinced drone is good value.

I haven’t got experience here with drones & Tares in Vetch. @TRethus has used the algorithm, but with @BilberryAgri on his @Agrifac, I think Tim? @KalimarAg have used their drone for Ryegrass in Lentils. That may be a couple of leads perhaps? 🤔
