the amount of hate on DLSS 5 is ridiculous especially coming from the decels and the gaming community. in fact, the whole gamer bubble is so anti-ai -- they don't even think about it, and their minds act like they're 12 years old "there is a texture with AI cancel the game" is very common so stop caring about gamers

@Grummz The way nvidia is pushing AI and posturing to be the defacto infrastructure for AI. I wount be surprised when you can't turn it off. It doesn't look bad, but I liken dlss5 to a parent redoing their kids homework so it "looks better" to turn in. "What you did isn't good enough"

I've neither defended nor panned DLSS 5, but people imagining I did is the most delusional display I've seen in awhile. I think the tech is interesting. You can't deny it's a quantum leap, no matter the aesthetic, it's going to change things, obviously. I'm more interested in styled graphics, and using neural rendering for things more interesting than photorealism. I think the current DLSS 5 stuff looks way too uncanny valley and has that AI look, but I see future versions, more subtle versions, becoming part of the high end photoreal pipeline. I also see people going absolutely crazy over something that can simply be turned off, and where Indies, who continue to provide the real value in the industry, will probably never feel forced to use. If you're worried this will make AAA lazier, ya it probably will, but AAA is not where you should be looking for great games anyhow.

@foxygames_uk The future should be NPCs that run on prompts instead of scripts. The people who think dlss5 "enhancing" peoples work is good, must have never had parents who hung their work on the fridge to showcase, or had parents who did their homework for them so it "looked better".

Sounds like a game with a lot of replayability, and DLC potential where your choices would actually matter
