BS - Everyone with a 1st Gen 360 either knew someone who had the red rings of death or experienced it themselves. I personally had 2 go red on me. It wasn't that rare and it's bait to say otherwise.

@RSDCDN @bestinclassyt Xenon, Zephyr and Falcon revision 360 motherboards are ALL faulty from the factory. I have personally seen thousands of RROD consoles. @topvint @MisirajEduart @RetroDigitalLLC I had pink goo on the first one I did. The v1.6 had black goo on the GPU, and completely brittle and dry black paste / pad on the CPU. The black stuff was way easier to clean up.

My RGB modded NES died. Sigh. I just ordered the V5 RGBkit for it as I was running the 1.4 for over 10 years. Debating if I even bother modding a new motherboard. Or just sell the parts off. Keeping old hardware going is tiring. My neogeo is dead and I can’t find anyone to fix it

@RetroJeff83 @BlueShell3D Oh yeah. I love the flexible duct. You can place it where its needed without taking up precious desk space. I got mine from Tequipment (price is a little better). tequipment.net/Hakko/FA430-KI… Pro Tip: Put a hair net over the nozzle. Pre-filters will last longer 😉

I really need to get a better setup, i have a desktop one from Hakko but its so annoying to get close enough to work and takes up valuable space I sadly just dont use it and therefore dont use fume extraction but I know I should. This is pricey tho for sure

We are big sticklers about quality and use custom tools and jigs. This represents only HALF of this morning’s soldering. 😅

Working on this NeoGeo AES 3-6 Arrived DOA and found a damaged LSPC2 chip and nearby traces Swapped in a donor chip and we seem to be good! Just need to tidy up bodge wires and then customer wants all the upgrades!

Another upcoming product in the shop. If you've ever had wrecked, corroded, or a missing cable from the #GameCube Controller PCB, I've sourced matching flexes and connectors that can be soldered on instead of stripping the flex which is a pain. #ConsoleModding #ConsoleRepair

First attempt at casting my own custom GameCube jewel came out promising overall. Downsides... way too thick, and absolutely loaded with bubbles 😅 Round 2: this time with a pressure pot to crush those bubbles. Also gonna experiment with some dyes and maybe a few other mix-ins...
