@AlexvrbX @RetroJeff83 Right, “better box” maybe would have been a better way to put it… whatever you find better to play your games.

A mister FPGA is more than just a "better CPU", the cores available for it are more accurate. If you're gonna go standard emulation, a beefier x86 chip would let you run more games AND have the GPU grunt to run fairly advanced new-gen CRT simulation filters. But yeah, just make it platform agnostic / modular and offer options or DIY kits. 2040 as the entry level option.

You know… the concept isn’t terrible (I also don’t want a full arcade cab visible in my main living areas either). But raspberry pi 4? Gross. Toss a mister kit with a nice scaler and crt shaders in there and now you could have something neat 🤷‍♂️

@RetroGamingDev Perhaps the final kit will come with everything but the Pi and have hookups so people can use something like a mister or SFF PC depending on their needs? I have a Pi4 but was so unhappy with its overall performance I use it as my workshop web browser PC but options are good

@ManaByte I also feel like Sony continually doesn’t market their games well at all. It’s like they just assume everyone will buy their stuff. I am in the gaming news space every day and I didn’t hear about this game until a few weeks ago. It was the same with Concord, heard about at launch

It’s a $70 roguelike. Returnal didn’t sell well for the same reason.

"Made in the USA" was the positioning until it wasn't and then "American values" was the positioning until that stops working and then we will find new words that mean nothing and those will work too because the words were never the product either. Why no reference to gameplay? Why no discussion about whether it’s a game? Why is Xbox defending it? They don’t do that with others.
