Excuse the rough temporary visuals, but now the ASR33 is capable of punching and re-reading tapes. This is a big step since now it's trivial to let user upload/save their own tapes and fully play around with the pdp8's main mass storage system. The core is almost done!

Today I worked on improving the ASR33 experience, next to work on the puncher and on the loading/unloading paper tapes that you can pick up and upload/download. Plus enjoy the first snippets of sound design that I tried. (Any feedback more than welcome)

I really, really love this PDP-8 simulation in progress by @RetroNewbieYT. Great work on the models (esp. the Teletype model 33 ASR), just take a look at the punch tape which you can even see through the holes .. great attention to detail. Will keep watch on progress. @tnmoc

Here my emulator runs a music program that utilizes the frequencies produced by the computers (in real life, paired with a radio) to produce sounds

It's been a while since I posted an update here, this summarize a bit what I've worked on lately. Posts will follow with more interesting use cases.

Flying a simulated spacecraft controlled by a ZX Spectrum and Sinclair BASIC my first computer and programming language. Terribly inefficient right now because the serial port is so slow and the CPU spends lots of cycles bit banging to talk to it. There's a Python program in between which talks to KRPC and translates the important numbers to the serial port for the Spectrum to work from.

Today I implemented the Type 30/34 CRT display (the one commonly used with the PDP-1) and here it is displaying a simple line program coming from the PDP-8. (3D model and 100% compatibility with type 30 on the way)

Can't believe how much all the work that I did on the PDP-11 is paying off. This took me just about 3/4 days between emulator and 3D model and texture. Definitely much more to work on but this makes me hopeful about future computers.

I've started work on the PDP-8 (straight 8) which will be the second computer available on the website, since the aim is for some kind of a "museum" I want to have 2/3 computers done before making it public and open source. These are random lights but most of the emulator is done

Worked more on the TU56, here demonstrating persistance of the physical media

I've finally finished a full-fledged Seiko UC-2000 / DATA-2000 emulator. github.com/azya52/Emulato… To be precise, I wrote it a few years ago, but only recently managed to dump the full firmware – thanks to @furrtek posting photos of the watch's MCU: x.com/furrtek/status…

I've been working on the TU56 for the emulator, since I'm emulating the PDP-11/20 this is a must have for a classic configuration (you can also see the ASR33 on the side which is already working)

Testing my emulator and WASM interconnectivity by running, without issues, a multi-user OS (RSTS-11) with two concurrent sessions.

Got some more work in during the holidays, now featuring decpack handling and loading, and Tektronix 4010 emulation! (+ Booting into RT-11 and RSX11-M)

I've been improving lots of things today, developing is going as fast as ever, and booting RT-11/RSX11M without problems
