Anyone know where I can find one of these AT cases? Had one as a kid and every time I see one, I want one even more 🤣

@HeyBirt Online product search is like looking through a rifle scope. Lots of details, if you’re looking at the right thing. Catalogs lets you scan, but a catalog is a curated experience (due to resource limits), which is both good and bad.

Hey Birt!, The 'Assumulator'
Question is: Why is it sometimes easier to search a paper catalog? Superior layout; look in correction section and then by pictures? Familiarity?

Hey Birt!, The 'Assumulator'
I was looking for some 0.156" pitch connectors and found it easier to get out the old Mouser paper catalog to look them up. The online search engine was not bringing many up. Went with Molex KK series. Guessed I should have just searched for KK. <more>

After some nice recent actions, I’ve updated my collection list. retroviator.com/collection/ Lots to enjoy, and perhaps a few I could prune. (Though I will probably start with passing along a printer or two or three taking up space.)

@gutbomb Oh yes… the Intergraph workstation, along with its funky keyboard. Given to me after years of service propping open a telecom door at my office.

@gutbomb Despite all its capabilities, it does a good job of getting out of the way and working fast and accurately.

@RetroViator This is my primary multimeter and scope too. I use it with some of those ultra sharp pointy multimeter probes.

This “cheap” oscilloscope has been making the rounds lately, but paired with Probe Master probes, it’s now my favorite multimeter.

@thevintnerd I’m lucky! It is the onboard VGA controller, and I still have video.

I learned an important lesson about the risk of using an oscilloscope probe on a tight PLCC when Vcc and ground are next to each other. 💥
