@dailygoat I disagree with your view of kaspa, being the unit of spend

This is probably a fair statement altho I’d amend it to “decentralized digital currency Holy Trinity”. The categorization essentially boils down to the observation that there ate only 3 digital currencies the world really NEEDS in virtual terms of necessity: $BTC (since it’s so integrated into markets now they can’t function without it); $ZEC (for privacy protection - think of it like a Swiss bank account); and $KAS (for speed and therefore finance and spending). Each crypto carries its own unique value proposition. Bitcoin, as said, is so widely integrated that the digital currency universe uses it as a baseline for value ascription - almost every exchange transaction is tied into Bitcoin’s value at some level (and that will be the case for at least a very long time). It’s the gold of crypto. Then there’s ZEC, which is like the offshore solution - it’s really a banking facility more than it is a coin per se. You can’t run big money solutions without some form of private savings facility and the Electric Coin Company, which is ZECs developer, provides this service for a fee. Then there’s KAS, which is the silver of crypto- this is the monetary unit you spend, that finances next generational building of the digital currency ecosystem etc. Almost every other coin is a copy of these or an attempt to be these, or its a memecoin (which is sort of like a subprime-heavy mortgage backed security, if we extend the analogy). Coins such as $SOL, while they have a place as facilitators of these subprime-mortgage-type assets; are essentially a form of credit. That doesn’t make SOL not valuable, but it doesn’t make it core monetary value either. In other words, SOL kind of like a credit swap, which means it’s non-core, “broad cash” in crypto parlance. Of the Holy Trinity, KAS is the most interesting simply because we haven’t even begun to build out the wider digital economy as a real digital spend-and-finance global economy yet, and the market is presently unaware there’s even an asset for this pivotal development since it can’t see it. When that realization catches on, it’ll be a whole other story.

If #kaspa is marketed as a fast blockdag it will likely fail, there are so many PoS high speed blockchains If #kaspa is marketed as an approvement to bitcoin consensus, fulfilling satoshi vision, im not sure this is a good message either, given BSV and the many bitcoin forks I understand the $KAS tech so I don't need a lecture here, but how do you position #Kaspa to the investor, why should they hold? I think #Kaspa has a brand / marketing problem, not tech problem

I think I have come to the realisation that the message for the #kaspa community to drive home is that kaspa has the potential to be a very good layer 1 with the user experience of projects like solana but on a PoW consensus the key is PoW, does the world want to use a layer 1 thats more physics and maths based or one thats more political and governed I know what I prefer $KAS

I prefer the narrative that Kaspa is for you if you believe PoW is the best consensus there are other PoW coins but none that can do what kaspa can thus meaning we have digital gold in bitcoin but for a real functioning layer 1 to compete with PoS projects like Solana etc you have the potential in kaspa this should be the message

@bookofkas i think the argument is why should that happen on PoW, thats the message that needs to be pushed, because all of what you just mentioned can be done already why is it vital that this is done via a PoW network, thats what the narrative is PoW versus PoS / other protocols

@steve_noretsu80 the tech is insane which is why i am studying it, i just want to know why you should hold kaspa people know why they hold bitcoin, ethereum, xrp even... there are narratives behind them, belief systems i find that kaspa has an identity issue, not a tech issue

@Return_of_Money "I don't think holding is the answer for Kaspa. It's about making everyday purchases decentralized: no layer 2,no middleman, no bank, no exchange, no expensive slippage, no failed transactions, and no VC back doors. Just really easy-to-use, instant, peer-to-peer cash."

@XSeyvion yes i think this is the biggest issue, holding bitcoin is extremely simple and easy to understand it wasnt always that way though, so perhaps kaspa is just early in its journey

I think the issue for Kaspa is the marketing and the narrative. Amazing tech but the average Joe smo doesn’t really know what it’s for TBH . The narrative changed so many times If you’re speaking to everyone you’re speaking to no one . Its value needs to be communicated clearly where people can understand and would want to use it .

interestingly not one person has said the same narrative, this does remind me of an early #bitcoin where it was extremely difficult to explain its 'purpose' the tech for #kaspa is pretty mind blowing, I just think the community needs to get behind something because right now it feels a bit scattered i have also seen $kas community treating bitcoiners pretty badly, its an odd approach because in my eyes those who understand bitcoin are the ideal target market for kaspa

they have to, I dont think they're being fourthcoming about the decline in google search and the rise of ai chat replacing it I ask ai most things now rather than googling, what happens if these ai companies make a second depositary of google meaning all its websites and data take away search and its pretty much game over, attention is moving youtube will be more valuable than google, so they have that at least
