Last night's launch of the Fairhaven Resident's Patrol went very well and both the Saskatoon Police Service and the Sask. Citizen's On Patrol Assoc. gave presentations. Those willing to volunteer for the patrol were given an opportunity to provide their contact information and a training session is being planned for early May. Key Points: - Patrols are preferred to be done from your vehicle - A phone app will be piloted with the SPS and this patrol group to determine the viablity of the app as a reporting tool to be expanded to other community groups - Reports submitted by the app can only be done as a part of a Fairhaven Resident's Patrol group and patrolling the Fairhaven community - Patrols can be done based on your availability - Training is provided - Criminal record checks will be required and are free As we get closer to the training session, we will also have another opportunity to volunteer.

While we can be displeased and not like certain people for the way they do things, we need to be mature enough to realize that they are still human beings, have family and friends that love them and care about them, etc. Focus on the issues, and if people are the issue, then focus precisely on what they said or did that was wrong.

Tired of our judges releasing repeat criminals, especially violent offenders, on conditions just so we can read about them being arrested again after hurting someone else. We'd like to think this is true and that our quality of training is rivaled by none, but our equipment is ancient, we've reduced training standards significantly, we can't retain members, and we're so desperate that we will train civilians for 1 week and add them to the Sup List, most likely making them more of a danger to our own troops, not the enemy. We only have a few e-buses and we found we'd need 1.6 e-buses to do the work of 1 diesel bus. Regina got some Federal funding for e-buses and we didn't. The technology needs to come a long way to be truly applicable on e-buses and while not ideal, we'll have far fewer issues with the new diesel buses. My question to transit remains - Why didn't we consider trollies as an option for the BRT? Much of the power infrastructure would be easy to set up, it would be far more reliable with constant power and a battery as a backup, etc.

Did anyone ask or did everyone simply drink the “green” Koolaid and believe what the sales rep was saying about green energy and federal government grants?

I wonder how the different weather conditions in Saskatoon will impact the electric bus range. While many people were asking questions about Saskatchewan winter conditions, it's disappointing that nobody in charge took the time to make inquiries. More greenwashing and PR!

Many levels of government should really tune into this and learn from it. He’s not wrong.

The recent ruling in BC opens the door for anyone represented by the STC to demand a full accounting and I believe even order an audit on their books. Given the friends I have in the STC and the many who are dissatisfied with current leadership, I can see such a request coming soon citing this ruling in BC as precedent.

@Tablesalt13 @ProtectWard2n3 Imagine if the public/media learned specifically how the money spent on the Mega Shelter in Fairhaven was spent? Thankfully, the financial details are being kept out of the public scrutiny. @cityofsaskatoon should require transparency!

@DTSaskatoon All the funding programs need to be changed to stop rewarding more homeless numbers, but instead reward service providers for the number of people taken out of shelters and placed in transitional, supportive, or affordable housing.

The homeless are a source of tremendous profit. Conferences, travel, meetings, plans, community engagements, facilitators, consultants, advisors and so forth. Everyone benefits…except the homeless!
