@EmilLevasseur @A_D_A_M_95 @HughQuinn12 @SunGod87 Just catching up with this. E33 did the best job of keeping you engaged in turn based combat I've ever seen. A lot of it was the audio. You could close your eyes and parry if you listened close enough. I was never good enough to get the timing window down for it on SMRPG, though.

@A_D_A_M_95 @RevenantThings @HughQuinn12 @SunGod87 Legend of Dragoon had some really cool things with the combat. I really hate running out of MP while playing a JRPG and I recall there were ways to heal characters that were not resource expensive.

Love turn based combat.

Any boycott on it will be shouted into the void, and if it's as good as the demo, it will float to the top and find its audience. It's in the top 10 anticipated games on Steam and it deserves it.

I don't compare ATB games with action games. ATB is kinda its own thing. Not action or turn based. Command and menu based, yes.

@EmilLevasseur @HughQuinn12 @SunGod87 I mean if the two opponents had seperate egg timers that were counting down from different numbers where it's possible to take multiple turns before your opponent gets one, then sure. No one is claiming it's real time action, but it by definition is not turn based.

@HughQuinn12 @SunGod87 It's a menu battle system where you enter commands to instruct your character which actions to take for their turn in combat. The turn order is determined by an egg timer. When the timer elapses, then you can enter commands again. Real time combat is Zelda or Secret of Mana.
