Among my least favorite prosecutor archetypes is the dude—it’s always a dude—who acts all cool/affable UNTIL you challenge him or otherwise impede his hoped-for result, at which point he becomes an uptight, unrelenting jerk, à la Vice Principal Dick Vernon from the Breakfast Club

A former colleague just beat a DC speed-camera ticket at the DC Court of Appeals. DC tried to make a ±1 mph margin of error vanish by regulation. The court held a coin flip isn’t clear and convincing evidence.
Ticket dismissed; math remains undefeated.

@am_yers There’s nothing more infuriating than counsel before you riling up the Judge. For some judges I just wait outside the courtroom for the cases to thin out a bit so I come not knowing what kind of mood they’re in. I prefer to think I’m the first case they’ve heard today lol
