“HE SHOULD COME CLEAN” Bayan Muna’s @teddycasino says genuine reform can only start if President Marcos Jr first acknowledges his family’s role in history. Teddy then turns emotional as he thinks of the country’s future, “Mahirap naman na… yung mga anak natin ganito pa rin?” @ANCALERTS @ABSCBNNews

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN THE SENATE YESTERDAY? More than political infighting among senators or the mud throwing between the Lower and Upper House, what transpired in the Senate yesterday should be framed within the ongoing fight to the death between the Marcos and Duterte political dynasties. The Duterte camp, with Sen. Marcoleta at the helm, used the Blue Ribbon Committee investigations to expose the corruption in the Marcos camp, dragging the first cousin Speaker Martin Romualdez and his minion Cong. Zaldy Co. into the mud via the Discaya couple's and Cong. Toby Tiangco's testimonies. This fit well with Sen. Escudero's aim to extract vengeance from the House leadership after the impeachment debacle. Unfortunately, this does not serve the interest of Malacañang. Loyal acolyte that he was, Chiz owed his presidency to the Duterte bloc, making him indebted and therefore not as effective as Malacañang's pawn. On top of that, the controversy over his campaign finances had tainted the Senate leadership's credibility. Sen. Sotto, being the statesman that he is, emerged as the natural replacement. It would be interesting to know what deal was made between Malacañang and Tito Sen to get the President's nod but obviously, his ascendance to power sidelined the Duterte bloc to the minority and removed Marcoleta from the helm of the Blue Ribbon Committee. And with Sen. Lacson replacing Marcolecta, we kind of expect the Discayas to cough up additional names, this time from the Duterte camp, including Sen. Bong Go whose family corporation partnered with the Discayas on several infrastructure projects in the past. For now, everything is still in flux and it would do well for us to be vigilant lest truth and accountability become collateral damage in the maneuverings between the Duterte and Marcos camps.

@Dream93Walker @clavdx Mawalang galang na sa’yo, pero walang masamang intensyon ang pagpost ko ng litrato na dahil sa tindi ng galit dahil kaibigan ko ang kinaladkad ng pulis ay madali ang pagpost. Nonetheless, I will take this as a learning opportunity to better highlight the work of our journalists.
