Every gigawatt New York refuses to host doesn't disappear. It gets built in Virginia, Texas, Georgia, or overseas. New York forfeits the jobs, tax revenue, and economic spillover while others capture the upside. The math is simple: capital flows where it's welcomed. t.co/mzBIOMCpGB

No one has ever accused New York of fearing innovation. I want New York to be the first to harness the power of AI the right way. If you’re going to succeed because of New York, New Yorkers should share in that success.

Thank you for your leadership, @GovKathyHochul. A data center moratorium gives lawmakers time to put strong protections in place and guarantee AI benefits all of us, not just a powerful few.

New York is the first state in the nation to enact a moratorium on data centers, pausing construction on new facilities for one year. "I need safeguards in place to protect New Yorkers," Gov. Kathy Hochul said. cbsn.ws/4bIN10e

Excellent news. It’s a shame that New Yorkers have to spend money out of their pocket in an effort to stop the harm perpetrated by the operators of two wheeled death machines and the nyc department of transportation alternatives because weak legislators are unable to uphold their sworn duty to protect the public.

Six disabled residents of West 72nd St. have filed a lawsuit against the city in an effort to stop the 72nd St. 2-way bike lane proposal, arguing that it unlawfully discriminates against them as disabled individuals because it would impair their access to West 72nd Street

An important example for my @TheDemocrats friends who think socialism won't be a problem.
Mike Netter@nettermike

A college economics professor stated that he had once failed an entire class. That class insisted that socialism is functional and that no one should be poor and no one rich, that everyone is equal... The teacher told them, "OK, we will do an experiment on socialism in this group. All grades will be averaged, and everyone will get the same grade, so no one will fail and no one will get a 10." After the first test, the grades were added up and divided by the number of students, and everyone got an 8. The students who studied intensively were upset, but those who studied less were overjoyed. As the second test approached, the students who had studied a little learned even less, and those who had studied more intensively told themselves that they also wanted a "handout", so they also studied less. The average of the second test was 6. When the third test was given, the average score was 4. To the great surprise of all the students, they all failed. The teacher told them that socialism will eventually fail because when half the population sees that they cannot work, because the other half will take care of them, and when the half that worked realizes that there is no point in working anymore, because others are the beneficiaries of their labor, then that is the end of any nation The story may be a fable not a fact but the moral is real Get it?

Kathy Hochul continues to cements New York's position as the worst run state in the union. @NYCComptroller Government intervention and action led to this including your right to counsel bill which just extends the time to eviction for the simplest of non payment cases. Instead of spending more resources of the taxpayers of New Yorkers, we should be reforming and repealing.

NYC rents hit a new all-time high. New Yorkers are being priced out. Our housing affordability crisis has reached a breaking point. 📈 June median market rents: • Manhattan: $5,295/month (+8.2% year over year) • Brooklyn: $4,350/month (+8.1% year over year) Back in April, our office announced a $4B NYC Housing Investment Initiative that will expand access to capital to build and maintain housing. On top of financing, the city needs to update zoning and cut bureaucracy to speed up construction. Making housing affordable will take collaboration and coordination on all fronts.

NYC, high heat is back. Today the city will feel like nearly 100 degrees.  This heat wave will not be as long or intense as the last one, but it can still be dangerous without the right precautions. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and check on your neighbors — especially older adults and people without AC. Hundreds of cooling centers are open for you. Find a location at finder.nyc.gov/coolingcenters/  Beaches and pools are open. Hours at intermediate- and olympic-sized pools are extended to 8:30 PM. 21 COOL vans and hundreds of outreach workers are canvassing the city to help neighbors in need.  Call 311 if you see someone outside who may need help. Call 911 immediately if you or someone you know shows sign of heat illness.

@SenFettermanPA Hey @GovKathyHochul, your administration never seems to miss an opportunity to tell employers, innovators, and investors they're not welcome in New York. While America races to build the infrastructure behind AI, you're hitting the brakes with a moratorium.

@GovKathyHochul Another day, another Kathy Hochul policy that makes New York poorer, weaker, and less competitive. The AI revolution is creating thousands of high-paying jobs and billions in investment, and her response is to throw up a government stop sign. New York has a leadership problem.

Another day, another Hochul assault on New York's economic future. While states across the country compete for AI investment, jobs, and data center development, Hochul's first instinct is to regulate first, pause growth, and ask questions later. This is how you drive capital, talent, and opportunity out of New York.
Governor Kathy Hochul@GovKathyHochul

New York will lead in responsible innovation while protecting families and communities. Today, I’m signing a first-in-the-nation Executive Order to hit pause and set the rules for AI data centers. Join me live: youtube.com/watch?v=TkzXkY…
