@Rhobar64172 @GeromanAT Inflation in the US is based on the same dollar as in China. The dollars don’t change. GDP is based on the same amount. Inflation in China would be the same due to their market based on the U.S. dollar. This isn’t PPP which is based on local cost of bread.

My problem with GDP (PPP) is that while it does a better job of measuring rent, food and service prices which are adjusted to the local market, high-end electronics are ultimately bought in dollars.
In other words, the PPP price of an iPhone for Russians is $3,000 and not 1k.
