They do this for everything.
They arbitrarily decide something is or isn't and expect the rest of us to simply accept it.
Like with false rape allegations, the existence of these being an inconvenience to anyone pushing the notion of a "rape culture". So they decided they just don't exist. They never happen. And they assert this as fact.
We know from the Duke Lacrosse case that false rape allegations certainly do exist. We know from that stellar bastion of journalistic credibility, The Rolling Stone, that false rape allegations happen all the time.
And we've been letting them get away with simply denying these things for decades now.
How do we stop this? It's very simple. What they decided, we un-decide. They make these decisions based on zero evidence, we in turn un-decide these things on an equal basis in regards to evidence.
It's that simple.

I tried this with some friends and it mostly doesn't work. You can *kinda* feel the illusion if you really lean in, some of us were better at getting the illusion than others, but it is not very strong.

When I was 20, I met a beautiful girl at work and we became work friends immediately—lunches together every day, shopping, carpool, etc.
She had a boyfriend whom she was “in love” with… but she eventually cheated on him with a police officer and found out the officer had a girlfriend.
She told me with a straight face, “I’m going to report that he raped me,” and then smirked.
I told her she couldn’t lie like that; it’s against the law. When she saw how shocked, disgusted, and serious I was, she tried to say she was joking.
But it made me view women differently. I had no idea women were capable of doing that. I stopped being friends with her, and she eventually got half the office to hate me 😩😭😑🙃
