Only five ships pass have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in 24 hours. Pre-conflict we saw a daily average of 150. Do not expect WTI to stay at $95. Expect it to double. Opportune moment to buy oil or to buy high torque oil producers like $OBE $OBE.TO

@commodityrsr You say full blown war and extreme energy scarcity as if hypothetical, the markets are just being suppressed out of desperation. As for export ban, it could happen, although I would argue not economical because of the US refiner need for medium+ crude… supply chains need CAN+MX

@cervellette If we were to go into a full blown war and extreme energy scarcity, how do you think about a US export ban to "save the consumer". Would obviously lead to rest of the world getting ripped apart, making future deals with US unlikely but you never know

I’ve allocated a large portion of my portfolio to $OBE.TO $OBE but what I did not consider was the short squeeze potential. CA & US exchanges have a total ~9.78 million shares sold short with total daily volume of 1.54mil: 6.4 days to cover (DTC)

I'm back with a new undervalued stock. Obsidian Energy $OBE.TO: obsidian-fairvalue.vercel.app. They have 210% upside at $80 WCS & $85 MSW with non-capital loss carryforwards of $1.7Billion and 10% annualized buybacks. I can’t find a better oil play

If the short sellers want to close their positions it would take 6.4 days of average volume for them to do so. This would push the bid prices higher as they attempt to close their positions. Usually they have a price at which they automatically close. This can cascade: “short squeeze”

@cervellette I also noticed the insane short interest only after I took a position in the stock. I don't think the shorts have covered much, if at all yet, since I was a lot of the buying volume recently 😇
