🚨Cucurella: “We have a good core of players. The foundations are there. But to fight for major trophies such as the Premier League or the Champions League, you need MORE. Signing young players only might complicate achieving those goals.” [@TheAthleticFC]

🚨Cucurella: “I understand this is part of the club’s policy & that they want to take this direction, signing young players and looking to the future. But, for all of us who are still here and want to win big things, moments like this make you feel discouraged.” [@TheAthleticFC]

@Blue_Footy @NizaarKinsella Maresca managed to cover the gaps in the squad from these pair of clowns, they shouldn’t be taking credit, they fell out with him and now he’s gone and we’re back where we started, about time they take some accountability

‼️There has never been any indication they [Sporting Directors] would be reviewed for what fans increasingly see as underperformance. They would argue that they have reduced the wage bill, balanced the books and still won a couple of trophies last season. ~ @NizaarKinsella

@Blue_Footy Nice brief from the sporting directors, why did Maresca walk away mid season exactly? Something to do with the helmets upstairs thinking they know what the team needs more than the manager who’s working with the team every day. Don’t worry we don’t need a CB we got Garnacho 👏

‼️They [Sporting Directors] felt they were making progress under Maresca, but his decision to effectively walk away left them taking a backward step before they could move forward again. People inside Chelsea believe they have recruited well in many areas, with some wastage inevitable at a big club. ~ @NizaarKinsella

Again “implode” is a pretty subjective term. You could argue conceding 12 goals in four games, getting knocked out of the UCL and falling 6-7 points behind United and Villa (who are crap) is an implosion in itself.
Absolute Chelsea@AbsoluteChelsea

The only scenario in which #Chelsea's stance over Liam Rosenior could change would be if they were to implode over the final weeks of the season, but there is no expectation of that happening. [via @Matt_Law_DT]

This club is finished as long as Behdad, Winstanley, and Stewart are at the helm The squad won't get fixed The next manager won't be better They struck gold with Maresca and ruined it because he wanted to take the next step and they didn't want to do what it took to get there

It’s not as simple as “sack the manager.” Rosenior shouldn’t have been here in the first place. Point your anger at who brought him in and wasted £1.5bn on average potential, and the owners who enable them.

@siphillipssport The average Chelsea fan on here would do a better job with the money they’ve spent and power they’ve had to make managerial decisions etc. They’re robbing a living and will shift blame onto anyone but themselves or their ‘project’

I’ll be honest, I’ve wanted to back Rosenior but the truth is he’s just another Southgate (and I never rated him either). But we need to keep the focus on the actual major problem at this club right now - the owners and SDs. They’ve infected this club with a virus.

Tottenham have stepped up their hunt for a new sporting director with checks believed to have been made on a number of potential candidates, including Paul Winstanley. Winstanley is contracted to Chelsea until 2031 and is not expected to quit the Stamford Bridge club. (via @Matt_Law_DT)

@CFCDaily Why not do this for the last manager when that’s exactly what he wanted? A season wasted and another manager replaced just to end up doing what he asked in the first place 😂

BlueCo not buying Marc Guehi tells you everything about their lack of real ambition. #BlueCoOut
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen

Manchester City prepared to make a January bid for Marc Guehi. Talks have taken place in the last few days with Crystal Palace. #MCFC hoping Crystal Palace's £35m+ asking price drops as the window progresses. Although Palace are open to a sale on the right terms, the high asking price is down to the need to fund a replacement. Guehi is a free agent this summer and has always been content to see out the season then pick his next club, so Manchester City would need to persuade him on the value (both football and financial) of leaving mid-season. Liverpool and Arsenal keen on a summer transfer. Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Bayern and Inter Milan among others to have enquired. Understand Barcelona held a meeting in which Hansi Flick was present, but are not currently moving forward.🦅 🤝 @alex_crook

What an incredible player Semenyo is. Moves like he's been at City for years. The way they rebuild while competing at the highest level genuinely makes me question whether Chelsea will ever touch a league title under this ownership. #Chelsea #London #EPL #Football #semenyo
