Praying before the game? Make sure your actions match it. “Your will be done…” — Matthew 6:9-13 How you play between prayers reveals your heart. #fcateam #devotional #faithinaction

The hardest coaching job isn’t the X’s and O’s. It’s getting 15 people to believe in something bigger than themselves.

I don't know what coach nees to hear this, but we need to stop confusing self-neglect with servant leadership. Burning yourself out in the name of the team doesn’t make you more selfless, but I'll guarantee it makes you less effective in the long run. You can’t consistently create a high-performance environment from a state of depletion.

Everyone’s greatest need is to feel appreciated. Make as many people feel that way as you can.

10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. - Romans 12:10-12

Having high standards will always make those living low standards uncomfortable. Don’t lower your standards. Live in such a way that inspires others to raise their standards.

A time will come when winning (at whatever you do) and having to win again and again will become unfulfilling (it never really was fulfilling) and lower on your priority list. When that happens, you begin to do what you do with PURPOSE, and winning becomes an exciting byproduct.

Transformational Leadership: “When you create a group of men that are playing for something bigger than themselves, and feel unconditionally loved in the process, they then will be better players!” - Dan O’Dowd

I don't know who needs to hear this besides me, but 2 Thessalonians 3:3 says, “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”

Joe Mazzulla on dealing with praise: “Praise is just as dangerous as criticism. You just have to remind yourself that neither one lasts too long. And, really, at the end of the day, they're going to forget about you eventually. This is all just a short-term thing that’s going to last a few years, and then 10-15, years from now, nobody is going to talk about you. So it really doesn’t matter.”

DM’ing coaches can help your recruitment. But just spamming your video link doesn’t work. DMs don’t need to be formal like emails… but you still need to introduce yourself. Keep it simple: 1–2 sentence intro + your video link. 👉 Comment “DM” and I’ll send you a simple template. #recruiting #collegerecruiting #recruitment #recruitingtips #ballislife
