Mick Cronin after UCLA's win over Rutgers: "There's haves and have-nots in the money world. Coach Pikiell is really a great coach. It's just a shame we don't have a salary cap and everyone was playing even. But this is baseball, not the NFL. This is MLB." (🎥: @UCLAOn3)

Just arrived in NYC where, nearly a week after the storm, the warmth of collectivism has proven unable to melt snow. Or collect trash

Good morning from DC Union Station, where Massachusetts Avenue is plowed one lane wide each way. Eastbound is currently blocked by a bus stuck at North Capitol Street where Metro employees are trying to dig it out.

I don't know what the issue is with plowing in DC this year, but it's likely not funding. DC's snow removal budget is the same as last year and higher than years past. 📈🌨️ The District boasts "more than 500 plows," but only 54 are out right now according to the @DCDPW tracker.

‘Shoot to Kill’: Accounts of Brutal Crackdown Emerge From Iran: Another government official, also speaking on the condition of anonymity, said he had seen an internal report that referred to at least 3,000 dead, and added that the toll could climb. If confirmed, the violence would be among the worst in recent Iranian history. Witnesses spoke of seeing snipers positioned on rooftops in downtown Tehran and firing into crowds; of peaceful protests turning abruptly into scenes of carnage and panic as bullets pierced through people’s heads and torsos, sending bodies toppling to the ground; and of an emergency room treating 19 gunshot patients in a single hour. nytimes.com/2026/01/13/wor… via @NYTimes
