Archie Yeo, Molly Palmer & Gemma Tutton are all in the British squad for the World University Games. This champs clashes with the Euro U-23’s and all three have standards for those championships.

@James_Athletics It’s a different organisation, however any British athletes that want to compete at the World Student Games this year will have to self fund £1800+ flights.

Lots of discussion after Ben Connor's post. Good on him for raising the athlete contribution clause - although it's been in the policy since day one. More notable, IMO, is a contribution requirement for the European U23s (£200). Not a fan - at all - of juniors having to pay.

@wldathleticshub @NS_GMS @FitzDunk Scoreboard error. That’s Nemiah in the video. Nemiah won with 4.10m. Izzy Turner second 4.00m. Izzy had a couple of really close attempts at 4.10m, which would be EU U20 qualifier for her

Observations on 4x100. Athletes are performers. Coaches are teachers. They are different jobs. You can't just take an athlete and make them a coach any more than you can take a coach out of the stands and put them on anchor leg.

Rule of thumb: Don't trust people who tie their identity, to the thing they are discussing/pushing. Example: The "carnivore diet guy" will never change his mind. Why? His success depends on being known as the carnivore diet guy. He's captured. Changing is near impossible.

🗣️”What you have to do is understand the rhythm. What I want to tell everyone is please stop coaching from computers! The guy's start is fine, he’s running fast. Everyone told me if you fix your start you’ll run faster, but I won every meet. So why don’t they fix their finish? The guy is phenomenal. Stop coaching from computers and just celebrate a young guy who’s going to be great.” Houston Head Coach Carl Lewis gives praise to Louie Hinchliffe after his amazing NCAA 100m Dash win in 9.95 seconds. Lewis also has a few choice words for everyone online 👀 🎥FULL INTERVIEW: youtu.be/7en3To0HnCg?si…

“Basketball is not the main thing in my life. And probably never gonna be.” Who said that? Nikola Jokic Don't fall for the misguided notion that you must be completely obsessed to be the best. You don't. And that obsession often gets in the way and makes you perform worse.

Many more kids have quit sports from over-controlling parents, than over-controlling parents helping their child become great. We're fooled by a survivorship bias, recalling the handful of cases where it seemed to 'work.' Not seeing all the potential that was lost along the way.

Older athletes often have success even if their physical gifts have waned slightly because they let go of the stuff that weighed them down. They stop caring about -the noisy voices of others -chasing external validation -trying to “prove” themselves They perform out of joy
