The Cavewomen of Cave City continued their hot start to the 2026 campaign with a 4-0 shutout of conference foe Salem yesterday, rolling to 8-1 and 4-0 in league play. Sophomores Baylee McSpadden and Kennedy Qualls each accumulated two hits apiece with Qualls adding in a double, while freshmen pitcher Tenley Engleman was credited with the win, allowing only two hits and three walks while fanning six batters in seven complete innings of work. Lady Greyhound and junior Jailyn Strong took the loss (6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO). 2025 3A state runner-up Harding Academy (5-1) put up 8 runs in the second inning against 6A Cabot (5-3) and never looked back in yesterday’s 11-6 road win as @AvaAceEllis2026 and @CoriHastings28 combined to go 8-10 (4-5 each) from the dish with four runs scored and six runs batted in.
