Jews do not own Golders Green. It is a British area with a high Jewish population. How dare pro Israeli Jews attempt to kick an Al Jazeera reporter out of the area. I know the guy and he is a British citizen who can go wherever he wants to in the UK. Was he provoking? No. He was just doing his job reporting on a news story. Perhaps the authorities should visit Golders Green and remind certain individuals that it is not Tel Aviv and they have no right to expel people from the area.

Yesterday was a grim day for all of us who oppose racism, hatred and division. It started with the cowardly antisemitic arson attack on four Jewish ambulances in Golders Green. A few hours later, 18-year-old Alina Burns admitted attempted murder after attacking an Iranian Kurd outside a barber's shop in Bristol. All this in a week when there has been an outburst of anti-Muslim vitriole in the media and amonst politicians. Ideas and policies which were once the warped dreams of nazis now appear normal. Fear is gripping our communities and we are being set against each other. I fear Britain is heading for dangerous times, but it is not too late to do something about it. The majority of Britons want to leave in a peaceful society, one where people of different backgrounds live together happily. We can wring our hands in despair or we can do something about it. We need to speak out against all forms of racism and hatred, challenge misconceptions and also amplify the positive and the good that is happening all around us.
