@KaneFoxxx @shckldg Pretty privilege and fatphobia don’t suddenly cease to exist because people that are conventionally attractive feel insecure. You can work on your insecurities AND you can be helpful in dismantling a system that privileges the pictured men for the way they look.

Firstly, anyone can have insecurities. Your approval of those insecurities is not required in order for them to be real and palpable for the people experiencing them. As someone who is diagnosed with BDD, body insecurity is not strictly reserved for those you deem deserve to experience it. Secondly, as a pornstar who has worked with pretty much every gay porn studio in the world and met the most successful men in this industry, these two men are absolutely exemplary of a more normal body type than what is often portrayed in our culture. Neither of these men are overly muscular, look to be on steroids, or are grossly underweight. These two men are being vulnerable about their insecurities and trying to bring attention to normal body types [which they ABSOLUTELY are]. Poking fun at that [albeit indirectly] is actually indicative of another issue within our community, which is lacking empathy and understanding for the sake of being witty online for likes.
