Farewell to our friend & colleague Det Insp Di Blandford who retired today after 3 decades of policing. A veteran child abuse investigator and humanitarian recently helping to organise 7 lorry loads of supplies that headed to Poland to help Ukrainian refugees. Kind to the core.

Always a joy to visit Bideford police and chat with colleagues to listen to their concerns. A really dedicated bunch of officers, Specials and PCSOs all doing their best for the public. Even bumped in to my tutor who hasn’t forgotten I was late for my first shift 😬. @DCPolfed

Bunked off work for a bit of birthday fossiling on the Jurassic Coast. Found this beautifully preserved pyrite ammonite and a very sea-worn ichthyosaur vertebra.

Called to assist with a person in the water at Paignton Beach. I attended the scene and saw a member of the public in the sea struggling with a person in distress. I immediately entered the water to help the member of the public restrain and safely return the person to the shore
