Mark Tully was a giant among journalists and the greatest Indophile of his generation. He was also a uniquely warm, generous, gentle, kind and helpful man, at whose feet I was honoured to sit for many years as he patiently explained the subtleties & nuances of India. As the voice of BBC India he was irreplaceable, a man prepared to stand up to power and to tell the truth, however uncomfortable. Both privately and professionally, he will be much, much missed.

70 years ago today, Rosa Parks took a seat and started a revolution. By refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger in Montgomery, Alabama, Parks ignited the Civil Rights movement. RETWEET to honor her historic legacy! 💙

5 science breakthroughs this week (🧵) 1. Lupus remission with cell therapy 18 patients with longstanding, treatment-resistant lupus were treated with B cell-depleting natural killer cells (CD19 CAR NK-cells) There results were pretty amazing: every patient was able to stop conventional immunosuppressants and taper steroids; 13/18 had lupus remission (‘DORIS’) This approach seems to be roughly as effective as using CAR-T cells — with a gentler safety profile thelancet.com/journals/lance…
