@RichardTheIIII Oh interesting. I've met a few converts to Orthodoxy from esoteric/new agey background who are in our sphere. You should give it a try, you've got nothing to lose. You'll either find out that it's the truth or you potentially won't be convinced.

More people than ever are recognizing that we're in a spiritual war right now, and that is good. Let me ask you a simple question about a spiritual war. If you found yourself in one and had to chart your way through, what would you use? Light or darkness? We have a choice. We each have a choice. We all have a choice. We have to navigate the circumstances we are in, and if this is a spiritual war of Good versus Evil, we must choose a way. Will we follow light, or will we follow darkness? The answer is obvious to everyone. You cannot set a course by the darkness. We must set a course by the light. In stark terms, it's all very simple. The hard part is telling what's light and what's darkness. It is only sometimes obvious, and sometimes it is very, very hard to tell. Jesus tells us how we might tell a good shepherd from a ravening wolf in sheep's clothing by a simple test: know them by their fruits. Is what you are encountering encouraging people, strengthening them, building civilization, pursuing justice, elevating truth, tempering wild emotions, or is it agitating, infuriating, causing despair or invitations to wrath, inviting destruction, vengeance, hatred, retaliation, retribution (these are no substitute for justice)? We have a choice. Light or darkness. We all have that choice. We each have to make it, not just today but every single day. My advice to you all right now, as gravely as any I've ever offered, is something I keep posting. Focus on the light. Do not fixate on the darkness.

A Catholic Mass was celebrated at Canterbury Cathedral today, July 7, 2025, marking the Feast of the Translation of the Relics of St. Thomas Becket. The Mass was led by the Apostolic Nuncio to the United Kingdom, Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, the first time a papal nuncio has done so at this event. This annual Mass, organized by the Catholic Parish of St. Thomas of Canterbury, is a rare occurrence in the Anglican cathedral, reflecting ecumenical cooperation. A relic of St. Becket’s bone, held by the local Catholic parish, was brought to the cathedral for veneration, and attendees could receive a plenary indulgence during this Jubilee Year of Hope. The service included music by the acclaimed choir Tenebrae, directed by Nigel Short, and concluded with a reception featuring champagne and chocolates. Grok

@RichardTheIIII At the end of this vid, you explore the reverse flow of ideas, memes, and culture from immigrants; the notion that they don’t just adopt parts of our ways and values, but that their ideas and norms can rub off on us as well. Sociologist and anthropologist types refer to that process as 'cultural diffusion' or the awkward to articulate term 'reciprocal acculturation'. Naturally, these are framed in neutral or positive tones, as if the exchange is always benign or beneficial, because those disciplines are full of Panglossian Wokies so of course they do.
