The governor general has no authority with the actual functioning of parliament. The only person she takes advice from is the sitting Prime Minister, she does not take the advice of opposition parties.

Are there any constitutional experts who can answer this question? Given that Trudeau leads a minority government, would a letter signed by the majority of members of parliament allow the Governor General to recall parliament? This could bypass Trudeau's attempt to prorogue government indefinitely, and allow for a non-confidence vote.
