@TrishikaSuji I’ve just returned from my first 2 week holiday since starting as a doctor in 2020. Mostly a personal decision - I preferred to just spend my leave tactically throughout my 4 month rotations to give multiple 4-5 day blocks every month. However, the 2 weeks off was great :)

My goal for ST1 and ST2 is to stop neglecting non-doctor me I need to buy nice clothes AND make arrangements where I can wear them out I need to stop being a ghost who only appears in the hospital

Today at the West Midlands clinical academics research retreat with Keele, Birmingham, Aston & Warwick ICAT teams at Billesley Manor in Shakespeare Country. Great weather, talks and venue to refresh the mind and stimulate discussions with like-minded colleagues!

@AbbieTBee This is great q (seeing the varying responses). We used a cannula for this purpose recently for sampling of serum metanephrines and it’s made me question a lot of things

The answer to this might be ridiculously straightforward but really why can’t we take blood from cannulas. If its flush, first 10ml discarded, and withdrawn slowly, why is it different from a PICC/mid where you have the tiny tubes on the skin surface ? We take it when inserted

MRCP Clinical Examination Diet1/2024 has been convened successfully at the Sandwell Hospital Birmingham. Thanks to all stakeholders, including our junior doctor colleagues, admin staff from the College and local exam teams. Organising an assessment is a teamsport indeed. 💪💪
