@acaseofthegolf1 @heyjudeworld Do they want a tour of the TV compound? How can I help. You are an inspiration

To the players and caddies who give me tickets to give away.
Right now a family of six is piling in their car to drive 9 hours to take the entire family to the Players tomorrow.
Money is tight, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
The father is a recovering addict, who now runs a rehab center and helps others get sober.
He wants to introduce his kids to golf and thought this would be a great way to do it.
Our @driveftf foundation is taking care of hotel for them tonight and will cover parking and food.
So thank you to all the players and caddies that make these moments possible to give to families.

I've had a few DMs lately from guys inquiring about getting into caddying. Let me encourage you...
- You're not too old. I started in my 40s. There are guys doing it in their 60s and 70s. Of course it's easier on the body for the young fellas, but you can do it!
- It's the perfect job for a next shot. A shattered life was my entry point. If that's your current situation, I'm here to help you start pick up the pieces.
- Yes, the money can be good. Every situation and place is different, and there are some less than "baller" days. But if you serve your players well most of them will take good care of you.
- The barrier to entry is not as hard as you think. Sure, you may not start at Augusta. But there are plenty of opportunities out there.
- The work can be physically tough, but it's pretty awesome to get paid to build a healthier heart. And the wonders it does for stress and anxiety!
- There are no emails, meetings, etc. To me, this has been life-saving.
- I suck at golf. But just like a lot of backup minor league catchers make great MLB managers, you don't have to be scratch to be a great caddie. It's a people business more than a golf business on a lot of days.
- You get to be a minor character in a play involving some of the most memorable days of a person's life.
- Yes, there are groups you don't love. But after five hours you shake hands and part ways. There is freedom in this gift!
- Sure, some days the weather stinks and the day can be a grind. But each night brings rest and renewal.
I don't want all of you to become caddies. Need some of you to make enough to afford a caddie 😂. But for those of you reaching out, I encourage you to take the leap. And if you need a friendly helping hand, I'm here!

Mizzou really isn't a "national brand" but I wish the national sports media appreciated Mike Kelly, he's legit one of the best play-by-play guys in the business.

@PowerMizzoucom No! End of the year polls matter, week three polling does not.

@Carmack64 @Cutterthecaddie Scott, I have a similar story. Got back into caddying in my early 50's. I do summers in St. Louis, winters in Florida. I mix in 3/4 KFT events a year, US Junior, Western Am....love what I do!
English

A little follow up to @Cutterthecaddie comment about how much you can make as a caddie. I spent 34 years in the corporate world grinding towards retirement. At 55 I decided I had enough and started caddying. For me I am a golf nut and love being outside. There are some occasional downsides to caddying like when it’s cold or raining but overall it’s very rewarding. For a young person who doesn’t know what they want to do, this is one of the best jobs you can have. Cutter is spot on with how much you can make as a caddie. The best thing about this line of work is the people you meet. For the most part the groups are very enjoyable whether they are playing well or not. Also you meet some interesting people. Like today I had NASCAR driver, Austin Cindric’s dad. Another perk is you are only working 4.5-5 hrs a day unless you have young legs and can do a double. Today we had a campus takeover for a corporate outing. Got my guys around in 3.45 hrs which is my best time for this year plus the tip was awesome! I encourage anyone who loves golf and wants to caddie to give it a shot. There are several high end courses that can be very rewarding.

Absolutely NOT. He's a human being. A fan put his hands on him and his teammates. He defended himself.

DOES LAMAR JACKSON DESERVE TO GET SUSPENDED BY THE #NFL FOR HITTING A FAN IN THE STAND…? The league has a very strict policy about players touching fans.

Thoughts from Travelers:
-I had a decent tournament but finished with a lousy Sunday. It was mostly one hole, the 13th, I made a triple. I hit three poor shots in a row. 🤦🏻♂️ It happens. My putter was a bit of a let down as well.
-Gutted for Tommy. I heard he looked undecided on 18 on the 2nd shot. The wind was super tricky there. It was swirling around the trees a ton and it was switching constantly in a different direction than the normal wind. I had a lot of trouble committing to a shot and number there as well. It also looked like his putt hit a bump for par. He’s such a nice dude and I’m sure he’ll get his win somewhere big soon.
-Amazing golf by Keegan at a tournament he cherishes. I just have to say that, people put too much emphasis on a win over a top 3,4. The difference is often one three putt or one misclub in 4 days or 1 out of 250 shots. Keegan can definitely be on the team as a player since he’s an amazing golfer but I think people are getting caught up in the moment after a crazy W. If he had finished 2nd, I don’t think the reaction would be as much. Food for thought.
-Sally’s Apizza was legit. Loved the crispiness of the dough and the sauce was great too. 9/10. Would be higher but the second time at a different location wasn’t as great to me. Still highly recommend
-There was a stomach bug going around the field that came from the US open thru kids and players. Crazy how it spread to many players. Why you saw some struggle and a few WD. I had it a little bit but wasn’t nearly as bad as others.
-On to Detroit! My last notable chance to lockdown a spot in the open but will need a really high finish. Game still feels solid and looking forward to it.

Soon this young fella will be trading in his back pack for a golf bag
Got the good news last night that he has been selected as a Jr Caddie at the local club, Pine Hills. He is super excited to begin taking the steps towards what he hopes is an Evans Scholarship
I'm thrilled as a dad that he will learn solid skills that will serve him well throughout his life.
Happy Thursday, Friends! I'm rooting for you. And so is Luke the Caddie!

Augusta Diaries (Fri)
-Looks like Augusta Diaries will continue for two more days! Super proud of how I played today. I hit the ball so solid all day and didn’t miss many shots. 2 three putts sting and speed wasn’t perfect but grinded out another 71 in really tough conditions. The wind on the back nine was no joke. It didn’t swirl as much but it was really strong. On 15 yesterday, I went for the green with a 4i, today I layed up with a 4i
-Watching this tournament for yrs and yrs, there are shots I’ve seen many times hit by my heroes growing up. To be playing this golf course and executing those exact shots I grew up watching, man that feeling is so so awesome. Augusta brings out all the emotions.
-That being said, this course with that much wind on this back nine is as stressful as it gets. There are times when I get excited and I’m like let’s go get a birdie when it’s a funnel pin like 8,9,14… but then there are times when I’m like omg, how will I get a GIR and hope for a birdie putt like holes 11,12,15,16. One wrong move and I’m going home for the weekend. Shane Lowry mentioned how pumped he is to get here and then when you play the tournament, you realize how brutally demanding this place can be haha.
-Feeling lots of gratitude today. 6 yrs ago I played terrible, knew I was going to play terrible, and was super down on my game. I’m in a much better place with my game, physically and mentally, and I have many people who believed in me and helped me along to thank for that. That being said, why not us??? Let’s go have ourselves a weekend!

Augusta Diaries (Sunday before)
-Got to Augusta National around 1pm. Drove thru Magnolia Lane. That drive is so cool and it never gets old knowing you’re there to play the Masters. I drove super slow to try and take it all in haha
-Went to get registered, got my courtesy car, and grabbed lunch at the clubhouse. They had an option for a sample of all three sandwiches which I finally tried. Pimento was 7/10 egg 7.5/10 bbq pork 8.5/10. New England clam chowder was a 9/10.
-Went to the pro shop for some early shopping. Got some goodies and will come back later.
-Warmed up for a little bit. That range is so pure, barely anyone there because it was later in the afternoon. Went to play the front nine, played with Johnny Vegas.
-Greens were FIRM. Like Sunday firm. They weren’t that fast. I think they’re getting them ready for the rain. Hit some nice shots hit some so so shots. These greens are pretty crazy.
-Putting from just off is really tricky. It’s so slow with the grass mowed into you but the greens are fast so that contrast makes it difficult. That mow makes bumping into them also super tough
-Augusta is super hilly, my goodness.
-Grabbed dinner and getting my tickets sorted.
-Thinking about doing these each day if people like it.

Ryan Peake, a former motorcycle gang member who spent years in prison for assault, just won the New Zealand Open.
Not only that but because of his past criminal record he had trouble getting clearance into the country.
He arrived late Tuesday and played 36 holes on Wednesday as he had never played the two courses the event was being held on.
On top of that, Peake earned a spot in the Open Championship.
He credits golf with being a huge reason he turned his life around.
Love this so much.

This is Carter. Carter was our only junior golfer to show up for today’s Saturday morning clinic at 9am. It was roughly 32 degrees. Carter also had his appendix removed earlier in the week, but didn’t want to miss junior golf.
THIS is why we do what we do. Carter, you are our hero. Thanks for coming out and spending Saturday morning with us!
