Eric is lying. Of course it means higher property taxes. 41% of Missourians don’t even pay income tax now including most seniors. The “offset” of income tax to sales and consumption taxes isn’t an equal transfer. It is a clear shift of the burden off the rich to the least able to afford it. They are simply trying to help the top 20% as their super majority finally ends this fall. Vote NO on 4 &5!

He said that in the past 4 years the Missouri legislature has handed out $13 billion to lobbyist, special interests, and career politician's pet projects. (See his FB post below). Now, they come to you and ask for you to trust them. Trust them to "expand the base" (code for tax goods higher than they already are taxed and lift the ban in taxing services that currently exists in your Constitution). They also have opened the section allowing them to create toll roads, too. (Page 2, references to 30b. 30c, and 30d --lines 25-26 of the legislation that gives license to Amendment 5 if it were to pass). See language below. Also important, did you realize that Senator Curtis Trent introduced a new version (different from what the house had passed) of Amendment 5 at Midnight? MIDNIGHT when Missouri slept and the doors to the capital were locked? THIS is how they got Amendment 5 across the line in the senate. Last night I attended a candidate forum hosted by @MissouriTimes & @NewsTribune, moderated by @scott_faughn & Erin Schrimpf. Out of 10 Republican candidates for state legislature, only 2 said they support Amendment 5. I never thought I’d see Republicans running away from eliminating the state income tax.

I think @GovMikeKehoe is right: it’s time to modernize the tax system and join the fast-growing states that have no income tax. MO working families deserve to keep more of their money.

Prop C. The puppy mill measure that was really an attack on animal agriculture. Endless minimum wage hikes. All slipped into Missouri law by out-of-state money. Amendment 4 makes our Constitution harder to hijack. YES on 4, August 4th.
