@RickyPeebs Darts, bowling, golf. Would be terrified to play you for money at the pool tables just out of respect for your mastery at white man casual sports.

@BigSwingTempo Ive always had the same thought about the gym and golf, really rewarding to see your practice pay off. Also insane lifting stats 🔥

Golfers and powerlifters are wired more similarly than most people realize.
You may not think they’re even remotely similar, but I’d argue the qualities that make a great powerlifter also make a great golfer.
Let me explain 👇
I’m an extremely analytical person. I think in numbers, positions, and processes.
The only way I can learn something is to break it down into pieces I understand, then build it back up.
Powerlifting, like golf, rewards that mindset.
I was never the strongest guy, but I became very good at self-diagnosis.
I obsessed over technique.
Recorded every workout.
Rewatched every set.
Tested cues constantly.
Evaluated sessions based on execution, not just weight moved.
Within two years, I took my lifts from:
• Squat: 285 → 600
• Bench: 195 → 350
• Deadlift: 315 → 612
A few days after my last powerlifting meet, I went to the driving range for the first time.
I was comically bad. I think I hit maybe 4 balls solid the entire bucket.
But one driver swing felt perfect. I can still remember how it felt.
From that moment, I was obsessed.
The first time I played a course, I probably shot 140+.
A year and a half later, my personal best was 86.
I think the reason is simple:
I approached golf the same way I approached powerlifting.
Break the movement down. Work on one thing at a time. Build it back up.
That process, the constant pursuit of improvement, is my favorite part of both sports.

@jaylombardi87 Couldn’t agree more, I like seeing random bars I’ve been to on people’s list and have also found a bunch of spots near me that I’ll check out
