@loosebool You did not answer, how was E10 stored for 4 years without any issue because as per you petrol pumps are capable only for pure petrol and not for ethanol blends. Instead of FE drop and other long term impact, this petrol pumps cant handle E20 but were handling E10 is rhetorical

What’s baseless ?? Warning about the consequences is baseless … read the whole tweet instead of rushing to conclusions without reading 🙄!! Anyway… your vehicle.. your choice …if you think E0 , E10 & E20 requires same infrastructure and Vehicle modifications.
F1Fanatic@RightChicane

@loosebool Are bhai E10 was the standard fuel since 2022. So how come that was being stored properly since then if pumps were not ready or upgraded for E fuel. Enough of baseless rhetoric.

Let’s analyse A Crucial Question… which no one is discussing- What’s the difference between Petrol storage tanks in Petrol pumps storing E20 & pure petrol ? 1. Tank material is almost similar- usually Carbon Steel for both but Difference comes in INTERNAL LININGS… #E20 storage tanks use - ethanol-compatible coatings 😒 2. Seals & gaskets - Standard petrol uses compatible rubber for seals & gaskets. But Ethanol-resistant materials such as fluorocarbon (Viton) or compatible elastomers are used for E20 compatible tanks . 3. Water management & sealing is Important for All Petrol storage Tanks But It’s highly Critical & compulsory for E20 because #ethanol absorbs water considerably more from the atmosphere 🤔 As conclusion we can safely assume- Existing petrol storage tanks can be used for E20 only & ONLY AFTER - A) Carefully inspecting the tank, B) Proper Cleaning C) By replacing incompatible seals or gaskets D) And more importantly- By ensuring proper water monitoring and drainage. 😊 QUESTION IS - Are our petrol pumps ready…?? And … if they are not… I can safely predict- PROBLEM RELATED TO #E20 will aggravate with time 🤔 @PMOIndia @PetroleumMin @HardeepSPuri @narendramodi @HPCL @BPCLimited @IndianOilcl & #WhomEverItMayConcern

Storage of e20 requires special HDPE layered sealed underground tanks, to protect from corrosion, and to prevent moisture ingress. There are about 100k fuel stations in India. The haste with which e20 was mandated leaves little doubt that a majority of fuel stations don't have e20 compatible tanks. Hence, this water problem, and fuel impurity risk. But when has scientific logic come in the way of vested interests. Public is there to pay for the whims and fancies of our netas. (Response to my RTI on fuel station readiness audit, is awaited) #EthanolScam

At an @IndianOilcl Pump Station situated on JVLR, opposite IIT Bombay main gate, many vehicles faced issues after petrol refill from the said pump Seems like rainwater leaking into the underground fuel storage tank and not just E80 issue #PetrolMileage reddit.com/r/mumbai/s/mLp…

@avarakai @Maruti_Corp CCP is not new, I have been taking CCP since last 3 years ever since my car's extended warranty got over. It covered water lock issue, adulterated fuel and rat bites etc as per the service guys.

While Mr Bharti official was convincing how ethanol is not an issue, his company @Maruti_Corp has launched “Customer Convenience Package” at ₹700/- to safeguard against fuel quality - key USP, among others. It is a business opportunity on both upstream & downstream. 🤷‍♂️
Sniper@avarakai

Seems like whole of India has started to shift its driving behaviour. Hence the mileage drop. I also humbly blame myself for this. Because, mine was giving 16-18kmph. Now at 13+kmph. Am pro-Ethanol, but come clear on mileage & why ethanol that’s blended with fuel is out of GST.

@nachiket1982 @Prashan61371023 @BadkaBakait I agree on that, drop in FE and faster deterioration of rubber parts when compared to E10 and E20 and in turn more service cost are real issues snd E10 should be available as option. But the way people are blaming everything on E20 is hyperbole.

@nachiket1982 @Prashan61371023 @BadkaBakait Got it sir and that is a problem in non compatible vehicles with their plastic and rubber parts. But would that be ao sudden that as soon as e10 vehicle gets e20 fuel, it goes kaput?

@BadkaBakait @RightChicane @nachiket1982 Incorrect. More ethanol content requires more more water for phase separation. E10 will phase separate easily will less moisture compare to E20. Phase separated fuel will definitely mess with engine

@sarkarstix Fuel pump on my Dec-2021 motorcycle gave up on me in May-2022 just 5K kms on board. Can I blame it on ethanol? Elextronic part failing can't be simply suspected on E20, diagnosis should be there to support the claim. It may be because of E20 or it may not be, both possibilities.

For those claiming ethanol-blended fuel is completely compatible with non-E20-compliant vehicles, here’s the invoice for my car’s replaced fuel pump assembly and fuel filter. My car has clocked just 11,900 km. Any automobile expert can tell you if a Fuel Pump assembly needs replacement in just under 12,000 KM. I can also share the odometer reading if anyone doubts it. Now, is the central govt going to foot the bill for this added burden of maintenance cost?

@thisis_drgsp @MahindraRise @TataMotors Fingers crossed, my swift 2018 is still unaffected it seems. FE mentioned below is tankful to tankful method, not MID shown. Getting 11-13kmpl in city. Only one outstation drive in May last week, 18kmpl pune-lonavla-diveagar-Tamhini Ghat-Pune with 5 onboard MID typically shows +1

Ethanol blending is more than a fuel policy. Since 2014-15, it has saved ₹1.90L crore in foreign exchange, generated ₹1.60L crore+ for farmers, replaced 310LMT of crude imports, & reduced nearly 930LMT of CO₂ emissions. It is also severely damaging old cars and reducing life of cars before 2023 which are e10 compliant. These cars are supposed to work trouble free for 15-20 years. The report of e20 testing is confidential so no one knows anything. Mechanics like Mukesh Chandra Gond know 100 times more than all media and influencers. Most of the petrol pumps on highways and villages are poorly maintained and their underground tanks aren't properly sealed which are providing an instant death like experience for cars too with a fuel that is separated already, which is more dangerous than e20 fuel. Authorities should provide e10 dispenser at each pump for min 10 years and should say that e20 wouldn't become e22 or e27 for 20 years. That's all customers want. I got half payment, so half praise and half reality.

@volklub Sir, below screenshots as per gpt, 90% humid air and that too fully condensed is not going to add enough water to cause phase separation. And If water ingress into storage is the issue , then be it e0 e10 or e20, water mixed fuel from that pump would have always cause issue .

@seshank94 @IronyMeter Same here, swift 2018 Haven't seen any drop as such Hover between 11-13kmpl in city, tankful to tankful, instrument cluster has usually 1kmpl more than this. Highways depends how I'm driving, varanashi to nagpur 19kmpl, on samruddhi 17.4kmpl pushing at 120kmph

@IronyMeter Meanwhile in WagonR petrol 1.2L bought in 2019 in I don't see any difference. Peak city bumper to bumper give 13, normal traffic gives 15, highway roads give 18-22 depending on speed (80-120) and no of people

@badassatronnn_ See the calculations, moisture from air is not gonna cause issue, and if water is getting in, E10 was more likely to phase separate, heck even pire petrol will have issue with water ingress in tank or storage.

@badassatronnn_ Everyone is an expert on E20 being hygroscopic, seems nobody knew E10 existed and was more likely to phase separate. Way of E20 rollout is an issue, nowadays everything is being blamed on ethanol.

Same thing happened with my bike. This is a widespread issue in India because many petrol pumps lack proper sealed lids or floating suction systems in their underground tanks. During monsoons and winter, moisture enters easily and contaminates E20 petrol because ethanol is highly hygroscopic and even small amounts of water trigger phase separation (ethanol+ water at the bottom & petrol on top). Who’s at fault? Petrol pumps and the govt. Who suffers? Ordinary citizens. Par decide aapko karna hai, aap kise choose karoge?? Corrupt Govt jo Nationalist hai ya Corrupt Govt jo Anti nationalist hai🫡

@volklub @DealsDhamaka As per US energy information administration, 2026 export is in same ball park as earlier and it's been almost same since 2017, except couple year dip in between. BTW I too am not in favor this forced E20 implementation, but we should stick to facts.

In 2026 too, ethanol is imported at full scale as per US websites Please check their data. Indian media isn’t reporting that. They say, this ethanol isn’t for fuel but for other industries. That’s like I bath with commercial milk and drink homegrown cowmilk and say we are cutting our expenses with home produced milk.

Am I getting it wrong ? Is the math wrong ? I have started tracking my fuel ⛽️ mileage as my odo meter is stuck at 8Km/Ltr, that’s the bottom it won’t show below Ethanol blending is to help with pollution and reduce fuel import. But is it really reducing ? A simple calculation changed my perspective. For a 100 km drive: • 100% petrol @ 11 km/L mileage → 9.09 litres of petrol consumed • 80% petrol blend @ 7.5 km/L mileage → 13.33 litres of total fuel -> 10.67 litres of petrol consumed Even though the second fuel contains only 80% petrol, its lower mileage means it ends up consuming more petrol overall. So how are we consuming less petrol ? ⛽️ As the mileage decreased, we are actually consuming more petrol right ? And paying more price per Ltr Genuine question bhai, please help 🙏

Hi! We are burning more fuel obv esp with non e20 compliant cars From the first day itself I am saying two things - E20 is done to push EV sales - To kill used car market - To make your car have fat bills after standard warranty is over to push all kind of sales - To import ethanol from the US - Controlled & limited supply of XP100 to be legally covered Everything else is noise Some pumps don’t have ethanol ready tanks, poor overall maintenance and adulteration too so such things are giving cars / bikes an instant death too. Wish to see some sane media panelists discuss everything point to point.
