Introducing Bistro - Blinkit’s new 10 minute food offering. Bistro is a new app, outside of Blinkit and Zomato. This service is currently live across a few locations in Gurugram to help us find product market fit.
With @bistrobyblinkit we will offer our customers high quality, canteen type food, delivered hot in 10 minutes. We believe high quality food that is more accessible has the potential to induct more customers into “outside of home” food consumption. To achieve this, we are innovating on the entire food supply chain with Bistro. At Bistro, no preservatives or food processors are used in preparing the food, nor is it microwaved processed food. Instead we are investing in infrastructure and R&D to create tasty dishes within 5 minutes or less.
We have partnered with a number of companies innovating in the food industry to make this happen and will continue to support the ecosystem.

Ambulance in 10 minutes.
We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities. The first five ambulances will be on the road in Gurugram starting today. As we expand the service to more areas, you will start seeing an option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the @letsblinkit app.
Some more info-
• Our ambulances are equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), stretcher, monitor, suction machine, and essential emergency medicines and injections.
• Each ambulance has a paramedic, an assistant and a trained driver to make sure we are able to deliver the highest quality of service in time of need.
• Profit is not a goal here. We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term.
• We are carefully scaling this service up, as it is both important and new to us. Our aim is to expand to all major cities over the next two years.
Let's do our bit and make way for an ambulance always. You never know when you may save a life.

We don't encourage order cancellation at Zomato, because it leads to a tremendous amount of food wastage.
Inspite of stringent policies, and and a no-refund policy for cancellations, more than 4 lakh perfectly good orders get canceled on Zomato, for various reasons by customers.
The top concern for us, the restaurant industry, and even the customers who cancel these orders, is to somehow save the food from going to waste.
Today, we are introducing a new feature (being scaled as we speak) – Food Rescue!
Canceled orders will now pop up for nearby customers, who can grab them at an unbeatable price, in their original untampered packaging, and receive them in just minutes.

Thrilled to announce that we have just enabled all our delivery partners to get refunds on their TDS deduction through Income Tax Return (ITR) filing.
Within 48 hours of going live on the Zomato Delivery Partner app, more than 1 lakh partners have initiated their ITR filing; we are expecting a total tax refund of more than Rs 40 Crores to our delivery partners.
Why are we doing this? Zomato is mandated by the government to deduct 1% as TDS from the delivery partner payouts (yes, we paid a total of more than Rs 4,000 crores to our delivery partners last year). This TDS can be claimed as a refund through ITR filings.
With this initiative, most of our delivery partners will be filing taxes for the first time in their lives, which should make their lives easier in the long run – for example – they will be able to get access to structured credit, they will qualify for scholarships for their kids at various educational institutions, etc...
Thank you @ClearfromCT, for helping us in this endeavour.

@SomaniAzhar @deepigoyal @zomato @SomaniAzhar Hey Azhar, I am part of Zomato's food delivery team, and will like to understand this better. Can we get on a short call now/tomorrow?
English

@deepigoyal Being a Gold Member for almost 2 years, Ordered 1000 Meals, Wonderful customer support, and now I dont even feel like ordering with @zomato @deepigoyal
I hope you can look into this to bring the Zomato what it was known for back to customers.
English

@deepigoyal I love Zomato but lately I have very bad view on how Zomato Business Model is being operated.
The Order Delivery : 2/10 (Primary reason to club orders to have delays doubling the time)
Customer Service : 2/10 (Useless to have AI when they cant maintain relations) 👎

Excited to unveil India's first crowd-supported weather infrastructure, weatherunion.com. A proprietary network of 650+ on-ground weather stations, it is the largest private infrastructure of its kind in our country.
These weather stations, developed by Zomato, provide localised, real-time information on key weather parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, rainfall etc. Currently available across 45 large cities, we are expanding this in other Indian cities very soon.
This rich data holds significant potential in unlocking weather use cases for enterprises and research institutes. Having already collaborated with CAS - IIT Delhi, we expect more institutions and companies to benefit from this and contribute towards the greater good of our economy.
At Zomato, it was crucial for us to have access to precise and real-time weather information to make the right business decisions to serve our customers better. Hence, we took it upon ourselves to develop a solution capable of empowering us on this front.
We are now opening up free access to this (through an API) to all institutions and companies in the country. Wait. What? Free? Really? Yes, we believe that this data is too valuable to keep to ourselves or to monetise; therefore, as a Zomato Giveback, we are opening up access to this data to everyone for public good. Multiple companies and public institutions should use real-time weather data, to boost the productivity of our economy.
Also, a lot of Zomato employees have hosted weather stations at their homes. As we look forward to further expanding this infrastructure, we welcome volunteers who want to provide us space on their premises to install these weather stations and contribute to nation building.
