A really beautiful library and worthy winner of the #Stirlingprize, gorgeous materiality and detailing. I just wish we could have a library of this quality, rigour and beauty open to the public in every town.

Love it when people don't want to pay for architectural services on their house, but then get frustrated that their builder isn't giving them good designs, so they want me to come in and provide "some sketches" so their builder "knows what to do."

If anything chases me out of the industry and the work I love, it will NOT be hassle/stress about construction, clients, market uncertainties, risk, etc etc.

Here's an idea: pick up the damn phone.
Sure, you need to get things in writing, but in:
- new biz relationships,
- contentious/delicate situations,
- times when you're trying to figure out something complicated on a multi person team,
it's *way* more effective to just talk.
