With Latter-day Saint general conference happening this weekend, the 2025 convert baptism numbers from the Missionary Department are expected to be released.
It is all but certain that a new all-time record in convert baptisms will be announced.
The current all-time record is 330,877, set in 1990.
Since 2020, conversions have grown by an average of 25 percent per year, reaching 308,682 in 2024. Any growth above 7.2 percent over the 2024 total breaks the record.
Indicators from late 2025 suggest the record will be surpassed by a significant margin: reports from October showed conversions running more than 20 percent ahead of the previous year in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America, while North America saw a 17 percent increase.
Documented Convert Baptisms By Year:
2020: 125,930
2021: 168,283 (+33.7%)
2022: 212,172 (+26.1%)
2023: 251,763 (+18.7%)
2024: 308,682 (+22.6%)

Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox presented the Presiding Bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a token of gratitude on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, recognizing the Church’s recent efforts to help preserve the Great Salt Lake.
“We want to thank you and know how incredibly lucky we are to have you as friends and neighbors,” Gov. Cox said during a brief afternoon visit in his office at the Utah State Capitol. “Having your leadership has helped us get other people involved who may have been hesitant otherwise. [Your efforts] have made a huge difference, and we’re really proud of it. With your help, we have much better outcomes.”
