@EveryTest3 @ConnCFC idk what you mean mate. I want England to do well, and Tuchel completely bottling a semi-final, after mismanaging a tournament and then talking incorrectly about English DNA isn't who I want running the club, even if he won a nothing game vs France

Don’t care what fans say. Tuchel’s first tournament with England and it’s our best finish since 1966. The longer he is with us, the better we will become. That simple

@Ryokus_ @cd_hooks It’s so funny how Argentinians have lied to themselves about a 250 year old document. The British accepted the agreement 'as satisfaction for the injury' (reparation for 1770), not recognition of any title, we retained our sovereignty claim

@ii0_v2 @AIiRadhi So he should have coached it out of them. That was his whole remit, he said it himself when he came in. I won’t engage with ‘succeeded vs Mexico and Norway’ because that doesn’t warrant a response

In his press conference, Tuchel essentially said that he thought the team automatically dropped back to defend the lead after the goal and lost all defensive intensity, so he tried to make changes to help defend crosses better without any luck.
Ali@AIiRadhi

Tuchel deserves so much criticism for his poor changes. But it is also a habit of England to fall back after taking a lead. It happened against Croatia and in previous tournaments as well. But his changes encouraged them to do that even more and ensured they had no way out.

@cd_hooks Britain is the only one who are seen as an aggressor. They ocuppied the islands ilegally for years, even when Britain and France recognized the spanish sovereignty just to then came back and broke the agreement and start invading our land. How is Argentina an aggresor in this?

@campbellclaret There's a difference between specifically setting up a low block because you go down to 10 men and throwing more and more defenders at a panicked team that can't make a pass. It was a mirror of Croatia, where it took Tuchel's half-time team talk to break the mentality

I agree with Piers!!!! What is happening to me?? He made what now seem to be dreadful tactical errors after the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 goal. But a similar approach had worked before so it was not unreasonable to think it might work again. His problem was that 🇦🇷 is not 🇳🇴 or 🇲🇽 And where I disagree with Piers - Messi is the GOAT (apart from Ashley Barnes) anyway cut Tuchel some slack I say
Piers Morgan@piersmorgan

Yes, England were too defensive. But the abuse pouring down on Thomas Tuchel’s head today is ridiculous. He was 5 minutes away from leading us into our first World Cup Final in 60 years. And if we’d hung on, he’d be lauded a hero today by the same people trashing him.

@Emanxamilius_ Why would we need to spend that much time studying an island that is just an Overseas British Territory? Just because Argentina goes on about it doesn't mean they have any reasonable claim to it or that we need to give any weight to their anger

The reason for the lack of education of the Falklands war is Britain does a fantastic job at trying to erase their sins in history The only notable events that are taught in schools is World War I & II. How will they know about the Falklands unless they did their own research?

"Argentina players are singing about winning the World Cup for the Malvinas - if you ask the England players where the Falkland Islands are, I dare say that most of them simply don't know." @AndyMitten on why England vs Argentina is the most "high risk" match of the World Cup

@Statford_Bridge We knew from Croatia that passive, panicked defending after going ahead also has 'leaks'. The fix wasn't more men in the box (Tuchel on Croatia 'we played 7 at the back and still conceded'), it was staying true to the play style ('if we lose, we lose on our terms')

My argument is that when it’s pissing down rain and your roof is already leaking into your house, yes the optimal solution is to fix your roof, but sometimes you just gotta put out the pots and pans, collect the water, and ride out the storm.
𝚁𝚘𝚂𝚑𝚊𝚖𝙱𝚘@RoShamBo7

@Statford_Bridge Is your argument honestly 'England had no option but to play 7 defenders and hope that Messi forgets how to cross'? In these situations you need to keep bodies and passing lanes high enough to exit; remove all outlets and you guarantee that you'll remain under siege

@RoShamBo7 These are englands passes attempted post goal before the subs. You could bring on Mbappe and he’s not getting any touches to run and get you out.

It’s 70’, you’re up 1-0 Last 15’ you have crossed half twice, players are dead You can A) bring on Rashford/attackers of your choice to try and get you out, BUT if they can’t you’re doing the same defending with much worse defenders Or B) bring on defenders and try ride it out

@Statford_Bridge @DavidCRowland Still doesn't excuse the changes at 80 minutes. Tuchel saw that we were trying 5 at the back and it didn't make sense to have Gordon LB, fine, but we gave up so many chances before the 82' changes that nobody believed an extra body in the box would quell Argentina

@AlexisIsKavkas He observed the exact same problem versus Croatia (seeing us concede with 7 at the back) and told the players 'if we're going to lose, let's lose our way'. Then we get to the semi-final and he sees the same development and he decides to play 7 defenders. Unforgivable

Blaming Tuchel is classic English mentality: results over process. He warned everyone after Norway that England’s lack of control would catch up with them. Moment a top team puts us under pressure, our players stop demanding the ball and look for the quickest way to relieve it.
