@Maddie_Wilmot Yeah, the x570 boards are expensive and the b450/x470 boards are just as good, unless you specifically want good memory support too (it's gotten better on x570)

@RobAWarner Expected as much I mean the board surely if your forcing a BIOS doesn't really care to check if it's a update or not, it's more like a recovery feature. I just don't need PCI 4.0 as Graphics Cards probably won't use it for a while and I might upgrade as a stepping stone for now.

I assume this would work. But can anyone confirm if a B450 board can use BIOS Flashback via USB to update to the 3rd Gen Ryzen BIOS without needing to get an older CPU? I also wish more B450 boards had 2 M.2 slots.

@Maddie_Wilmot It is just an update to a specific bios, it can be a newer one, as long as the board supports a flashback feature without a CPU or ram

@RobAWarner I know of the loan they are doing, I was just trying to skip the wait if I can just do it manually. I know the MSI boards are pretty straight forward, drop .ROM press button installs like magic. I don't see why it can't be used to "update" the BIOS rather than go backwards.
