@sola_chad John was the only apostle at the crucifixion. Jesus said to Mary ‘Woman behold your son’, and to John ‘behold your mother’. The apostles were the universal (Catholic) church fathers. The term ‘woman’ was also used for Eve, humanity’s mother. Mary is the mother of the church.

The Bible has 66 books, 40 authors, and was written over 1500 years. It contains approx. 1 million words, and The New Testament alone has 7,957 verses. There is not one mention of a prayer to Mary. All 650 recorded prayers are to God alone. Mary can’t hear you.

The concept of praying to Saints, being those deemed that are definitely in heaven, you disallow. …like saying you can respect an earthy king, but not talk to his leaders.

Not with those prayers that have been shared in this thread! The prayers say we place our eternal salvation in her hands??? ABSOLUTELY NOT In only Jesus do I trust for my salvation, not the woman who bore him. She's just a woman, a blessed one, but only a human woman. To say otherwise is absolutely idolatry.

@RobCecchi @NickChubbFan24 @oliverburdick The one prayers calls Mary "holy." Jesus was adamant that only God is good and holy. But then again, you guys calls the Pope "His Holiness." How absolutely awful to minimize the actual holiness of God by calling any human holy too.

@NickChubbFan24 @oliverburdick That’s like arguing Jesus never said the words “I am God”. Soften your heart, and consider if it is right to revere Mary as the ark of the new covenant, along with “all generations”.

@RobCecchi @oliverburdick Never once does it say to pray to her. She is considered blessed because she bore christ but that doesn't mean we pray to her.
