Anything can be built with enough time, dollars, and influence - that's not new. What challenges lie beneath those fairgrounds is expensive and a large scope project which puts the Caps beyond budget, and out of time. Government red tape is part of the challenge, but not the problem.

@RobFai Im sure if MLB wanted to build on the PNE grounds, the land would be just fine for a ballpark. It’s called engineering anything is possible. There are a handful of stadiums built over train tracks in N. America. It can be done as well. Gov red tape will be the death of the caps

I am not sure where the Vancouver Whitecaps end up but my sense is that it won't be at the PNE grounds. Learning more about the physical land around track and its got a lot of problems under the hood. Not likely to get through all the checks needed to build. BC Place deal might buy time, but if end goal is PNE or stadium over the tracks, this is a dead end. BTW, is the ampitheatre over $200M now?

I can't remember a city ever growing so quickly with pro sports teams like Las Vegas over the past 10 or so years... NHL, MLB, NFL, PWHL, and perhaps the MLS be it relocation/expansion... Unreal to see the explosion but curious to know if there's enough corporate $ for everyone.

I remember taking a similar tour of the Vancouver Grizzlies "new" training facilities at the Plaza of Nations around '99...

This is great news. My hope is they can begin to rebuild programs that ended up on the scrap heap and find a way back to its once proud tradition. Trust takes time, but with the right people and alumni involved, this can happen. Happy to see this...
