Looking at an old letter from a great aunt to her sister, which refers to moving from Tampico to Mexico City in 1923 for “summer coolth”. Not a word I’d heard before, but a good one.

Any of you nerds know when the top of Tachbrook St in Pimlico was pedestrianised?

@RichardBlyth7 @Ben_A_Hopkinson If anything the supply of industrial land in London is insufficient, leading to industrial land values in many places now outstripping residential values. Low value uses like waste transfer won't be replaced elsewhere. There aren't easy solutions.

@Ben_A_Hopkinson How much land does London need for these support functions eg MOT places? And waste transfer? And which sites are best for it? (Prob not those near stations as you say.)

Building new housing is banned on a lot of land in London. It's not parks or green belt, rather it's mostly concreted over brownfield land. The mayor could easily change this land use to build the homes London needs. Let's talk about Strategic Industrial Locations (SILs) 🧵

In which I do my best newsreader impression... This is just the very tip of the iceberg of the work done by the team to get us to this point. And there's still lots to do, including opportunities for stakeholders to share their views; but great to get to this milestone.

City Plan 2040 has been approved by the Court of Common Council, the City Corporation’s primary decision-making body. It means the plan will now be published for public consultation. Please enjoy our city flyover video (GMJ Design) and find out more here: loom.ly/QKUiRWw

mildmay.org/our-history ...which was originally a mission of the deaconesses from St Jude's church during the cholera epidemic. St Jude's is in Mildmay ward, and the Mildmay line runs right past the church.

@RowanMoore Not my area of expertise but people in the know tell me that honey bees are usually pretty bad for biodiversity in cities, crowding out other pollinators, sadly.

@iAModp Layouts seem to be standard small flats of the period, with some modernisations. Though looking on Rightmove one owner has decided to go for a striking interior...! Definitely a sought after area, though many flats in these blocks are still social housing (due to covenants)
