I don't want to be the guy who gets back from a lovely break and complains about the parking, but lord help me I am, so WHY would you do this to your beautiful high street Aldeburgh?? How can you live like this?

@joncstone Speedy work Jon! 👏🏻👏🏻 We’re hopeful about protected cycling infrastructure in Hackney. Massive shame about Westminster though 😩

@Mr_Considerate Do you know about microwaving it? Cut the hard ends off and microwave for 30s, then it pops out of the skins

I don't hold with paid domestic labour of any kind, but I think I *would* pay somebody to come over and peel garlic for me. Just the most tedious job.

Yes, put with phased developments it's entirely possible. As is being done over at betterbarnsbury.org.uk. The key seems to be: 1) Guarantee right of return for all existing occupiers 2) All existing owners (right to buy) get the same if not better property 3) Overall estate facilities improve 4) New homes have lower running costs Provided every council house is replaced, I honestly don't care what percentage of the remainder get sold privately. A home is a home.

London Councils are uniquely positioned to lead us out of the housing crisis. Yet, wherever I turn I come across sites like this in @hackneycouncil. One quick AI prompt and you can see the potential to increase density 10x. Sandwiched between two London Overground stations and multiple bus routes, yet it remains an inefficient jigsaw of bland lawns, parking and a maximum building hight of 3 floors. Most importantly what reforms/incentives are needed to get councils truly building, rather than tinkering around the edges? I would love to read an in-depth article on this subject.

People saying ‘what’s Hackney Council going to change in the Middle East?’ don’t understand politics. If these elections mean a different Labour leadership, it’s entirely possible they could change Britain’s position on Palestine. It’s a very reasonable theory of change.

Nigel Farage has committed prosecutable election offences with this video under the Representation of the People Act 1983. The Act prohibits inducing voters through the threat of “temporal injury”, which includes material disadvantage such as the targeted imposition of government burdens. Threatening to specifically house illegal migrants in a constituency if it does not vote Reform is coercive and constitutes a criminal offence.
Nigel Farage MP@Nigel_Farage

If you vote Reform you will not have an illegal migrant deportation facility in your area. We will hold migrants awaiting deportation in constituencies that vote Green instead. You get what you vote for.

If you had to guess, where would you say the deadliest avalanche in U.K. history occurred? Scotland? Wales? The Lake District? Nope, it was none of those. It was in 1836, in Sussex! 1.
