@LayoffAI The distinction between "reduced" and "replaced" matters here. This isn't headcount optimization, it's a full function elimination. Curious to see if the API docs quality holds up in 6 months without domain experts in the loop.

Code is an output. Nature is healing. For too long we treated code as input. We glorified it, hand-formatted it, prettified it, obsessed over it. We built sophisticated GUIs to write it in: IDEs. We syntax-highlit, tree-sat, mini-mapped the code. Keyboard triggers, inline autocompletes, ghost text. “What color scheme is that?” We stayed up debating the ideal length of APIs and function bodies. Is this API going to look nice enough for another human to read? We’re now turning our attention to the true inputs. Requirements, specs, feedback, design inspiration. Crucially: production inputs. Our coding agents need to understand how your users are experiencing your application, what errors they’re running into, and turn *that* into code. We will inevitably glorify code less, as well as coders. The best engineers I’ve worked with always saw code as a means to an end anyway. An output that’s bound to soon be transformed again.

Since I first invested in $TSLA in 2015, I’ve gone through multiple major drawdowns: -74%, -60%, two separate -53% drops, another 50% decline, and many others. The whole market is down this year. YTD performance: • S&P 500: -5% • Nasdaq: -7% • Apple: -8.5% • Nvidia: -8.5% • Meta: -9% • Amazon: -10% • Tesla: -16% • Microsoft: -19% It's really not a big deal if you're a long-term investor. Tesla's long-term potential hasn't changed.

Got some lovely comments from my fans: zealot, thick, brainwashed… and one genius advising me to hand myself in for touching kids. All because I said electrify + clean power to escape fossil import dependence. The mask slips fast when the argument’s lost.
Jan Rosenow@janrosenow

I just told @BBCNews: Energy crises are fundamentally demand problems, not supply problems. 80% of our energy is fossil fuels, much of it imported, leaving us exposed to price spikes. The only long-term fix: electrify the economy with clean power.

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

BREAKING: The U.S. Government has officially announced that @Tesla and LG Energy have signed an agreement to ‌build a $4.3 billion lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cell manufacturing factory in Lansing, Michigan, with a 2027 start of production. "American-made cells will power Tesla's Megapack 3 energy storage systems produced in Houston, creating a robust domestic battery supply chain," the U.S. Department of the Interior said in a statement. Here's everything you need to know about Tesla's new Megablock, the latest in the company's industrial storage product lineup, which includes the new Megapack version 3: Megablock: • 23% faster to install with up to 40% lower construction costs • Plug and play platform (hardware, software and services) delivered as one all from Tesla. It's a pre-engineered medium-voltage block that integrates next-gen Megapack 3 • Eliminated above ground cabling between the transformer and the megapacks using new flexible busbar assembly • 91% MV round trip efficiency • 20 MWh of usable AC energy • Operates in temps of -40°C (-40°F) to 60°C (140°F) • 248 MWh per acre • 25-year life & >10,000 cycles • With Megablock, Tesla is targeting to commission 1GWh in 20 business days, equivalent to bringing power to 400,000 homes in less than month Megapack 3: • Will be manufactured in Tesla's upcoming Houston Megafactory starting in late 2026. 50 GWh annual manufacturing capacity when fully ramped. • 5 MWh of usable AC energy • Weight: 86,000 lbs • 28 foot long enclosure that can be shipped globally • Optimized for up to 8-hour applications • New drastically simplified thermal bay. Uses Model Y heat pump, but on steroids. 78% fewer connections, which minimizes failure points • Larger battery module and larger battery cell • 2.8 liter battery cell, co-engineered with Tesla's cell team • LFP battery • Operates in -40°C to 60° • Went from 24 cable connections in Megapack version 2XL, down to 3 simple busbar connections • 75% of the mass of Megapack 3 is battery cells. • A single module in it weighs as much as a Cybertruck • Tesla has enabled easier front access service, so there are no roof penetrations • Drastically simplified bussing system

Here's everything we know about Nvidia's "greatest leap in graphics since real-time ray tracing" You can see Digital Foundry's jaw drop in this reaction after they just saw DLSS 5.0: - Will ship in Fall of 2026! - Demo ran 4k on 2 5090's but is already running on single GPU in their labs. - Will run and ship on single GPUs. - Doesn't change the scene or geo, just relights it super accurately. - Nvidia say they look at this as trying to anticipate the original, fully realized vision of the game. - Works on environments, not just characters. - Todd Howard has signed off on it, saying it's how he wanted Starfield to be seen. - Developer can tune DLSS 5 lighting. - You can apply to games as primitive as Minecraft, it's not just for high end games. - Developers are already on board. - Should scale with output resolutions. "I don't think I've seen a demo as astonishing as this..."

Killing the game of telephone between the domain expert and the code may be a larger feature driving adoption rather than writing faster code. You iterate more than ever — probably way more. But the iterations happen between you and the thing you're building, not across four layers of project managers and contractors losing context at every handoff. Every domain expert has tools in their head that never got built because the communication overhead exceeded their value. Vibe coding makes those viable. If you don't actually know what you want, an LLM will cheerfully build the wrong thing at extraordinary speed. And none of this eliminates the need for a real engineer to make sure what you've built is actually safe before it touches production.
