@geandre99 @itvwestcountry @ChinookDisplay I respect your view Gareth but it proved a very valuable exercise for the RAF, as within a few days they were plugging the Whaley Bridge dam. If the dam had burst then taxpayers would be plugging the £ gap. Total respect to our Forces who are silent heroes.

More than 40 tonnes of chalk was air-dropped by Chinooks this week as part of the restoration of Alton Barnes’ White Horse. 🚁
The #Wiltshire landmark is 180ft high, 160ft long and was last chalked in 2009. 🐴😱

We're nearly there with 46 tonnes of pristine white chalk now on the Alton Barnes White Horse courtesy of the RAF - the last leg is to complete the re-chalking (39 tonnes left to spread) which will take place this Saturday (10th). Come and join us!
