5/18 🤔’s on travel day 🛫🛬 Hartford - Spokane ⚒️🏔️⚒️ One of the messages I share with our players in our Player Development system in Colorado is in regard to the importance of self discipline. It is a huge superpower once a player can wrap his head around it. Some benefits of self discipline….. Every right decision you make is a victory for your self. It’s a WIN. Make the next right decision and it’s another WIN. Discipline ultimately equates to freedom. When you decide to discipline yourself others will not have to. That gives you the freedom to make choices that you want to choose vs being forced to choose them. “Discipline yourself and others won’t have to.” - John Wooden Make a difference today Love Clint Clinthurdle.com

@Spe81558890Lyle @Markgubicza True but an excellent broadcaster, too. Good guy seems somewhat condescending and pompous. But, wait, you pointed out the grammar error which is a trait that is the polar opposite of being pompous. Say hey to Dean Spanos

@Spe81558890Lyle @Markgubicza I view the 5 as a mysterious and foreboding work of literature. To arrive in San Diego, one must read further through a long and circuitous work of literature. I apologize for using a word that is not appropriate for travel on the freeway that you observe through a different lens

🚨 Pope Leo XIV just declared the Iran War unjust. Called it a war crime. Said it is “not solving anything.” Then told Americans directly: call Congress. End this war. The same Pope Trump called weak on crime. The same Pope Trump fabricated a nuclear quote from. The same Pope whose brother received a bomb threat after Trump attacked him. The same Pope Speaker Johnson lectured on theology. 1.4 billion Catholics heard their leader call this war a crime.

A lot of Dodgers fans are upset by this - it's possible they just didnt get it. Allow me to explain The joke is the Dodgers spent one quadrillion dollars in the off-season just to be behind the San Diego Padres, a team that has only acquired 3 hits this year. Hope this helps.

@DanZangrilli What is the causal relationship, if any, between the Padres ownership spending money recklessly and season ticket sales ? I say there is none.

Yup. Season tickets - both full and partial plans - are the lifeblood and backbone of any sports franchise and their attendance success/shortcomings. I’d venture a guess that record season ticket sales in the history of the Pirates franchise was 2015 (or likely 2016). No one was picking up the phone saying, “Sign me up for 81!” after 2025. Attendance figures are very much delayed gratification from sustained and substantial on-field results. No great secret.
John Steigerwald@Steigerworld2

@DanZangrilli Has nothing to do with the price of gas or anything else. It’s advance sales. How many people would be at Yankee Stadium tonight if the Yankees had 4 winning seasons in 33 years? Why would any 40 year old man be a die hard Pirates fan?

@BobSmizik @kylegolikfb It’s not San Diego. There is a ball park that rocks even on week nights for the last 6 years. Peter Seidler spent the money to try and compete with the city that stole our football team.

The Pirates lost a generation with their ineptitude. It was a great baseball town. It can be again. The team has to prove it first for a sustained period of time and the key thing is they need to make the product on the field the star attraction not the ballpark or skyline. @BobSmizik agree?
Bob Smizik@BobSmizik

Winning team. Splendid spring night. Best ballpark in America. The great Paul Skenes on the mound. Tickets sold: 13,515. Actual people in stands: Somewhat less. Please don’t tell me Pittsburgh is a great baseball town. Or even a good one. It’s a mediocre baseball town. #Pirates.
