My boy just bagged a corporate job and called me hyped. "Ac, I'm set for life" $140K/year. Benefits. 401k match. Corner office. I congratulated him but I had to show him the math. $140K salary = $8,750/month after tax $2,800 rent $650 car payment (Audi A4) $280 insurance $180 gas $1,200 DoorDash $400 eating out $200 gym $120 subscriptions $1,500 bottle service $900 barber (2x a week) $500 going out $200 random expenses He's left with $820. Daycare? $2,000/month. Now he's -$1,180 every month. $140K/year is survival, bro. how about you setup a store

Ain’t it cute how Florida Man rage-baits when he wants attention? Make sure to go say hi. While you’re in his comments, let him know that Boone never went to Florida. Why? They don’t have a clue what BBQ is down there… and they know even less about what qualifies as a good cup of coffee. 😏
Stocking Mill Coffee@smcroasters

Fun fact: Daniel Boone was relieved to leave North Carolina after his stay stating… I can’t fathom living a life with fellow countrymen who can’t BBQ. -Daniel Boone

Happy Pecan Day: the most “on brand” holiday for me My grandfather started Stuckey’s as a roadside pecan stand in 1937. We’re still growing them in our orchard Fun Fact: pecans are the only snack nut native to the US
So yes… I was born into America’s original snack 😉

If you had to guess how many of the 535 members of Congress are being blackmailed? Not bribed or bought. Straight up blackmail. What say you?

This GSP with the pink collar is out in the yard right next to the driveway... It keeps lowering its head and slowly following the chickens all around the grass, sniffing right up close to one of the brown hens like it’s trying to play or herd them while they just peck away... Would you let your GSP hang out with the chickens like that or keep them separated?

I’m giving a guest lecture for a University of Missouri class tomorrow night. We’ll be delving into how I use Where the Dogwood Blooms to fight to protect the cultural heritage of North Carolinians… and what inspired me to do so. I hope the students have their big kid pants on. Because we’re talking about the erosion of cultural memory across the South - from a true blue Southern perspective. Y’all pray for me. I feel like I’m walking into the lion’s den with this one. 🤣

Bradley Kasal walked into a house filled with enemy fighters. Seconds later, a grenade exploded at his feet. He didn't stop. He was 35. Kasal was a Marine First Sergeant in Iraq during the Battle of Fallujah. A senior leader. He could have stayed back. He didn't. He led from the front. Entering a house with his Marines during intense urban fighting. Tight spaces. No visibility. Every room a risk. Then the explosion hit. A grenade detonated in the room. Kasal absorbed the blast. Shrapnel tore through him. His legs were badly damaged. Blood everywhere. Most would have been out. He wasn't. Kasal continued fighting. Engaging the enemy at close range. Protecting the Marines with him. Making sure they made it out alive. He took multiple wounds. But he stayed in the fight. When he was finally evacuated, photos showed him being carried out. Bloodied. Arms locked around his rifle. Still conscious. Still holding on. He survived. He was awarded the Navy Cross. Years of recovery followed. Surgeries. Pain that didn't go away. One room. One explosion. One man refusing to fall. Most people will never know his name. But the Marines who walked out of that house do. Because he stayed when it mattered most. 🙏🇺🇸🙏
