Sauna 4+ times per week can cut your risk of dying from a cardiovascular event by about 50%. Andrew Huberman explained this on Lex Fridman’s podcast. Using traditional saunas (80–100°C for ~30 minutes), the benefits increase with frequency: twice a week gives a solid reduction, but four or more times per week is where the data gets really impressive. A large 2015 Finnish study (Laukkanen et al., JAMA Internal Medicine) following 2,315 middle-aged men for ~21 years found that, compared to sauna once per week: - 2–3 times/week → 27% lower cardiovascular mortality - 4–7 times/week → 50% lower cardiovascular mortality (and 40% lower all-cause mortality) These associations held after adjusting for multiple confounders. It’s one of the most compelling lifestyle habits with strong observational data behind it. Have you incorporated sauna use into your routine? How often, and have you noticed any benefits?

The middle school in @elongmeadow Mass. has two pride benches outside - a gay bench at the front entrance, and a trans bench in the back (ironically.) I thought that public schools were not supposed to be pushing woke ideology - that is exactly what this is.

President Trump is right — the Senate Parliamentarian needs to go.   I said the same thing last year after she struck down my amendment ending taxpayer funding for sex reassignment procedures.   The Parliamentarian’s job is not to decide whether a policy is good or bad. It’s to determine whether a provision complies with the Senate’s budget rules governing reconciliation.   My amendment directly controlled federal spending, thus it was within the budget rules. The Parliamentarian ruled it out of order anyway.   Republicans are always told these decisions are neutral and beyond question. But when the Parliamentarian consistently blocks conservative priorities, while Democrats face no such obstacles, it's fair to ask whether the rules are being applied fairly.   Bottomline: the Parliamentarian serves at the pleasure of the Senate Majority Leader, not for life. If Republicans want to enact the agenda voters sent them to Washington to deliver, they have every right to replace her with someone who will apply the rules consistently.

🦔Leonardo is a $17 billion defense contractor. It built a system called SignalTrace that clips sensors onto the license plate readers already mounted on street poles, overpasses, and police cars across the US. Every time you drive past one, the sensor grabs the Bluetooth and WiFi signals from every device in your car, ties them to your plate, and logs the time and location. Your phone, your AirPods, your kid's tablet. All of it goes into the same file. A friend rides with you once and their devices are linked to your plate. Leonardo has sold this to police departments since at least 2023. There is no federal law covering it, no opt-out, and no warrant requirement. My Take None of the pieces here are new. Your phone has always broadcast a signal. The license plate cameras were already there. Leonardo just connected them and found a buyer. Nobody had to break a law or build anything from scratch. They assembled a surveillance system from parts already in place and sold it before anyone noticed. Most people found out this week from a 404 Media investigation. After heart surgery, the parents of a 13-year-old girl were told that their daughter was dying, and that they should start making end-of-life decisions, including donating her organs. Upon transferring their daughter to another hospital however, they were told that doctors at Oregon Health and Science University had installed her new heart valve upside down. “Doctors at Seattle Children's removed the inverted valve and replaced it with a different one, properly positioned. Her heart promptly began to function correctly. She was successfully taken off cardiac bypass and no longer required ECMO. Her condition continued to stabilize over the following days in Seattle Children's ICU. After more than a month in critical condition, she was able to return home with her parents.”
