For people who missed it at the time: We obtained and published Lindsey Graham’s Georgia grand jury testimony earlier this year. Read the transcript: documentcloud.org/documents/2810… Also throwback to one of my first pieces for @lawfare: lawfaremedia.org/article/lindse…
Greg Bluestein@bluestein

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham never represented Georgia. But few lawmakers from outside the state played a bigger role in its turbulent politics. #gapol ajc.com/politics/2026/…

Smith was specifically asked about *toll records* obtained from *Members of Congress.* He accurately said those records didn’t include message content. Grassley's docs relate to texts of *WH officials,* obtained via *NARA,* which happened to include exchanges w/ congresspeople.

18 USC 1001: Makes it a felony to knowingly and willfully make false statements, conceal facts, or submit fraudulent documents to the U.S. government. @RandPaul I've transcribed the exchange with Jack Smith for clarity and accountability: Question:  The toll records that you requested from the Senators, did they include the content of the phone calls? Smith: NO Question: The records that you requested, the toll records from the members of Congress, include the content of text messages? Smith: NO

New: Vickie Paladino (@VickieforNYC) is being sued for defamation by NYC activist Claudia Morales. Morales, whose boyfriend Ryan Carson was murdered in 2023 in an act of random violence, says Paladino baselessly claimed she didn't call 911 because of her progressive politics.

The people who should know better and are pretending that they don’t understand this distinction because they want to claim that Smith committed perjury should really be embarrassed.

Why is everyone pretending they don't understand the meaning of words? I'm sorry, but there's zero ambiguity here. Nothing in the Grassley docs raises any real question of perjury. Smith was asked about a completely different category of documents.

Former special counsel Jack Smith multiple times denied this having happened in his Dec. 17, 2025, deposition before the House Judiciary Committee judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subs…

Reminder (just in case)... U.S. elections are administered in over 8,000 separate voting jurisdictions. There is no ONE switch to flip. There is no ONE person to buy off. There are over 8,000 election directors of varying partisan affiliation, philosophy, age, race, experience, etc. They (formerly "we") use different tabulators to count paper ballots (except Louisiana, the only state to not have paper ballots). They conduct pre-election test. And post-election audits. All of which is subject to post-election litigation. washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/…

@Brucethegolfer @AnnaBower He never subpoenaed the contents of the records. Some members were on stuff he asked NARA to voluntarily turn over. They asked him about the toll records that just say who called who.

@jchristenson_ They got those texts from NARA who turned over WH texts which had involved Congress. The warrants were essentially pen registers with no content. You will want to avoid a costly retraction.

Congratulations to Senator Darline Graham Nordone on this historic achievement. Her appointment marks a significant milestone for our state.   A 2009 graduate of South Carolina State University, Senator Graham Nordone becomes the first woman and the first HBCU graduate to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate. This is a testament to the progress our nation continues to make in expanding opportunities for women to serve at the highest levels of public office.    I feel certain her historic accomplishment will inspire generations of South Carolinians to believe that no barrier is beyond reach and wish her Godspeed.

December 2025: Jack Smith swore under oath that he didn't spy on text messages belonging to members of Congress. Today: New evidence confirms he spied on dozens of members of Congress, myself included. This is a blatant abuse of power, and exactly what our Founders warned about.

NEW BREAKING: Behind closed doors, a battle has erupted between Trump admin and the law firms that cut deals last year. The firms have lawyered up. Under @POTUS’s bold leadership, today’s meeting with Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi marks a turning point. The future of the U.S.-Iraq relationship lies in investment, trade, and economic opportunity—not just security. At the heart of the Middle East, Iraq is uniquely positioned to connect the region through deeper integration with the GCC, Türkiye, Syria, Jordan, Central Asia, the Balkans, and the Caucuses. New pipelines for energy, new roads to progress. A more prosperous Iraq means a more stable region—and exclusive opportunities for American business.

Why does nobody have a normal reaction to Lindsey Graham’s death? It’s either the most fawning hagiography you’ve ever seen or ghoulish memes. Surely there is a sane, middle ground where you can just state the facts about his life.
