At first, transparent water tanks sound like a brilliant idea.
You’d instantly see how much water is left, monitor usage easily, detect dirt faster, and never have to climb up to check levels again.
So why aren’t most water tanks transparent?
Because the moment you make a tank transparent, you create a new problem:
Sunlight.
Water tanks are usually stored outdoors, exposed to heat and UV radiation for years. If sunlight passes through the walls easily, algae and microorganisms begin to grow inside the tank much faster. The water may start looking green, develop odors, or become unsafe over time.
That’s why many tanks are black, dark blue, or opaque.
Those materials block sunlight and reduce biological growth inside the tank.
There’s also the durability issue. Transparent plastics often weaken faster under constant UV exposure. Over time they become brittle, cloudy, yellowish, or crack more easily compared to heavily pigmented tanks designed for outdoor conditions.
Ironically, making the tank easier to “see through” can make the water quality worse.
That said, some modern tanks partially solve this problem by adding:
small transparent level indicators
external water level gauges
float monitoring systems
smart sensors connected to mobile apps

Why don't we have transparent water tanks so that we can monitor our water usage

Message to Rigathi Gachagua ahead of your visit to Nakuru on Tuesday:
You’re welcome to Nakuru to mourn with the family of the late pastor. That’s the respectful and expected role of a leader.
But don’t come with tribal politics or loose, insulting language. Nakuru belongs to everyone, and we will not tolerate disrespect toward Governor Susan Kihika or President William Ruto.
Come with respect, or stay away.

The most worrying thing is that President Ruto has not bothered himself with the by elections and yet he has won all of them.
This means one thing, that Ruto's team is highly and sufficiently organized. Without him, they successfully campaign and deliver victory.
Quietly without drama and chaos, UDA delivers victory after another.
An organized minority will always defeat a disorganized majority.

@wanugubadboy @rigathi I dont think so

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
Two days ago we witnessed and received sad news from Northern Kenya where we lost patriotic Kenyans in an act of aggression and incursion by Jubaland forces who continue to be on the Kenyan soil illegally.
I send my deepest condolences to the families of the six innocent Kenyans who were brutally killed in Arabia Sub-County, Mandera County. I also wish the seven injured a quick and full recovery.
Last year, I warned about the serious security threat posed by the presence of illegal foreign Jubaland forces in the territory of the Republic of Kenya when they had occupied almost the entire Mandera Town.
This tragic incident has sadly confirmed those fears.
I strongly condemn this heinous act and demand the immediate removal of all illegal foreign forces from the area. The safety, sovereignty, and dignity of Kenyan citizens must be protected at all cost.
We cannot trade the territorial integrity of our nation for cheap business and political gains of a few individuals at the helm of our nation.

@Ggkinyanjui @RobertAlai Am An ODM Life member and my view is that the party is strong and moving forward. We don't need Sifuna, Babu or Orengo.
Let it be known that Oburu is the only leader with enough political muscle and intelligence to Contain the Opposition!
Ruto knows Oburu will deliver!!

English

@RobertAlai I think Oburu is the best as the ODM party leader. He is strong, energtic,Intellectual and a good representation of the youth.Power is part of his mission..Let him continue as the leader because he will bring Ruto 5M votes from Nyanza
English

Wacha niseme!
ODM must urgentky start the process of looking for a stand-in Party Leader to replace Dr Oburu whenever he’d not be able to personally lead party activities.
The top ODM leadership will kill Dr. Oburu by demanding that he fly in choppers all the time, affecting his well-being, and even not live his age.
New party leader must be groomed now or we fold the party and find new vehicle.

POLICE INTERCEPT BUS WITH AMMUNITION AND GOVERNMENT STORES
A multi-agency security team manning a roadblock at Kanyonyoo along the Thika–Garissa Highway has intercepted a passenger bus ferrying a cache of ammunition and government stores, thwarting what could have been a serious security threat.
The bus, registration number KCW 208A, belonging to Buscar Sacco, was en route from Lamu to Nairobi when it was flagged down for a routine check. What began as an ordinary inspection quickly turned into a major breakthrough.
A thorough search of the vehicle’s boot led officers to a suspicious blue metallic box. Upon opening it, they uncovered a chilling haul: 19 rounds of 7.62x51mm G3 live ammunition, 116 rounds of 7.62x39mm AK-47 live ammunition, two empty AK-47 magazines, two machetes, a complete set of GSU ceremonial attire, two GSU combat jackets, three jungle green trousers, a GSU red beret, among other items.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the box had been booked as a parcel at the Mokowe booking office in Lamu County, destined for Nairobi, with no sender details attached, raising serious questions.
In swift action, the driver, Said Abdulrazak Ahmed Abadalla, and the conductor, Bernard Ochieng Odhiambo, were arrested on the spot. They, alongside the bus and the recovered items, were escorted to Kanyonyoo Police Station, where they remain in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities are now pursuing critical leads to unmask the individuals behind the consignment and dismantle the criminal network.
